Douchebag 2.0—an Elon Musk company

I will admit I was not aware that there was a book before you told me itt. I assumed it was a screenplay. But he really does nail it. It’s widely regarded as his finest performance and even he thought he should have won the Statue (they included some hilarious blooper outtakes at the end which he insisted cost him the award). But the concept was great imo Didn’t you like it??

Yeah, it was good. It’s a quick read. Quite short.

Or Is Facebook gonna be like that Black Mirror episode where the two guys start fucking each other during their games of Striking Vipers?

The FDIC is pretty good at facilitating people who want to yolo big money into a risky and uncertain venture on 48 hours notice. Musk seems like that kind of person.

Umm Taibbi?

Godfather
Silence of the Lambs
Fight Club
Jaws

I’m sure there’s many more, these are just books I’ve read.

Maybe you should spend less time reading movies, and more time reading The Bible

And it only takes making one of the best movies ever made to be better than the trashy novel it came from.

Scorching hot take (?): GoT s1 and s2 were better than the respective books, mostly due to lacking endless descriptions of foodstuffs and women’s teats.

Show, don’t tell. Amirite?

urrite (also it takes less time)

Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers and Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama (both 1 and 2) come to mind.

Being There is a classic, but can anything top this?

Yeah, this is a good point. Of those four books, the best book and the worst movie are Fight Club. Fight Club is a legitimate highbrow-ish book. When people are all oh the book is better than the movie they’re almost always talking about hugely popular and/or very acclaimed books. Classics. The Great Gatsby movies maybe aren’t terrible, but the book is great so it’s hard to measure up. But then tons of movies are adapted from lowbrow, middling successful novels like the Hannibal series and Jaws and the Godfather. And it really doesn’t matter that it’s a bad book because you’re just taking the big beats from the story and transforming it into a whole different medium that has very little in common with reading a novel.

The better question is are any novelizations better than the film imo.

I liked reading Half Baked more than watching it
