Yeah this dude has a history of not so subtly using numbers as childish jokes every chance he gets, he’s spent the last month replatforming literal nazis, and there’s a long documented recent history of right wingers giving nods to nazis with symbolism covered in plausible deniability. Giving him the benefit of the doubt is how they slip this stuff into every day discourse. I find it much more likely that he wanted to make an 88 tweet and searched Twitter for an innocent example of an 88 tweet he could respond to rather than coincidentally responding to some Madagascar fact (seriously what?) between his edgelord shitposting spree.
