Elon has wanted to make an “everything app” like China’s WeChat ever since he was at PayPal and it looks like this “Twitter 2.0” thing is where he wants to take this. He thinks he can burn his bridges with advertisers because he can completely remake Twitter as something else. I guess we’ll see!

I don’t understand the 30% thing. 30% of what? Do you have to pay for the Twitter app?
Apple gets 30% of any transactions that happen in the apps in their store. If people pay the $8 to subscribe to Twitter via the app, Apple would get $2.40.
However, this one little trick to subscribe to Twitter Blue via the web instead of a phone app probably circumvents this 30% business.

Sure but there are enough slam dunk cases where Musk says horrible things. No need to include instances where he might or might not be super offensive. That just gives ammunition to his defenders and muddies the water.
Damn Apple losing out on $250k or something. That’s gonna definitely cause them to stop paying Twitter 200x that in advertising.
