The whole CA tech workers being overpaid coddled snowflakes has long been a right wing deal, but to go to the extent of actually buying one of big firms and torturing the employees until they quit is really quite extraordinary.
if a server in a datacenter goes into a crash loop, but there’s no devops to receive the page, would anyone even notice?
Wow conservatives sure do hate the free market
free markets does not mean the workers are free.
If Twitter crashes, then it will silence the main platform for reliable sources of info on what’s going on in these places, so it’s not nothing, exactly.
I’m still short TSLA. I entered a couple months early but I rode out the storm. IMO it’s not too late to short it, and it’s not nearly as risky as before. It doesn’t have the same energy as 2021, when every week some “analyst” was raising their valuation target by another 100B. People are leaving the Elon cult. But whether to short right now or wait a little is hard to say. TSLA usually moves with the Nasdaq, which might stay on its bull run until the December CPI and Fed meeting. Those in turn could set off another bull run. If one is nervous about that, one can go short TSLA + long QQEW or TQQQ.
In light of Twitter’s demolition, I might close my DWAC short soon. Then maybe re-short if it bounces again.
It has to be. Dudes got info on Elon. He buys twitter with the purposes of destroying it
Nothing else makes sense
Thats fair but I am assuming (with no evidence, just my gut) that if Twitter evaporates then a replacement will be built. The labour market is full of unemployed people that know exactly how to build one, and there seems to still be huge demand for a functional version of Twitter.
For the record, I do not anymore believe that Musk is enjoying himself or living his best life.
People that have genuine feelings of self satisfaction and a healthy sense of happiness tend to derive them from things like feeling a sense of purpose, having lots of empathy and compassion, being a forgiving person, and having many mutually beneficial and loving relationships. People like that don’t tend to spend a lot of time on social media saying LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME I AM DOING GREAT AND LOVING LIFE and trolling strangers.

long technical thread by a guy that’s a lot better at what i do and he’s spot on about all of this, maybe even left some stuff out. there’s a lot of plumbing underneath a site like this.
This is why There Will Be Blood is the perfect American movie. The traits that get you rich in America correlate very strongly with being miserable.
My kids have plenty of experience with the insanity that was (is) Donald Trump, but I really need to let them know about George Bush.
The W years were so goddamn absurd. Not as bad as the Trump era, but man.
