dude set politics and philosophy aside for a while and dive into simpler local things. <cut to slippery & strangely marine sound of clovis diving face first into multiple urethrae> The forces helixing our world down the drain are primordial and probably cyclical and at this point well beyond anybody’s search-and-rescue mission. Sorry to spoil but we are going down the drain, and then we’ll bounce back. Meanwhile, the actual stuff you love doesn’t really have much to do with this mess. What—you want to look back on this moment in forty years and the main memory you’re left with is a decade of reading bad and worse news that you were completely right about, but all being right got you was existential ague, croup, and dropsy? Tune out. Recommit to a hobby and read some literature and listen to led zeppelin and bach and go on hikes where you always stop to smell the urethras. The news will still be here in two months when you feel better, and btw when the time comes when we all have to act, then you’ll know about it and you’ll be there. Better to arrive at that moment feeling like yourself than some haunted cassandra, cassandra had a shitty life, and what you’ve got ain’t nothin new

truth social isn’t operating at a 10th, or probably even a 50th, of the scale that twitter does

anyone can make a functional website, it’s much different to do it at a large scale

Lol @ paying $8 to win the fight against bots.

Pornhub has been making sure I’m not a robot for 12 years. That battle ain’t on the consumer side

lol, wow:

A Guardian article compared Truth Social with Trump Steaks and Trump Vodka. As of late April 2022, MarketWatch reported Truth Social had around 513,000 active daily users, compared to Twitter’s reported active daily userbase of 217 million.

quite a bit less than 1/50th lol

But I’m sure Trump has assured me it’s #1

Making ads “twice as relevant” for only a tiny portion of paying customers seems like another genius business decision for an app dependent on advertising revenue.

That is the future. Paid tiers to get turbo access, and automated access and premiere access and first post access.

Also for the 10,000th time, local mutual aid, local solidarity, local direct action. The 3 keys to feeling very good. It’s that or disconnect yourself from global realities. Pick one. The only two ways to feeling good.

Should have verified important people and celebrities for free and let people pay for early access to their posts and priority display in replies.

Bounce back to what? And when?

Do we even want to?

That’s so fucking awesome. Please let twitter become the app that creates effective boycotts against its own advertisers

Apparently the engineering team met Musk’s deadline to launch the subscription service.

I almost miss following this account now because I remember her complaining all the time about not getting a blue check mark, describing all the work and lobbying she put into pleading her case to get the checkmark, how it was unsafe she didn’t have one, and on and on. Good news now!
