Douchebag 2.0—an Elon Musk company

Elon saying he will close on twitter by Friday.

Hurrah for the believers. I am for it and always have been because it is maximum chaos.

I hope step one is instantly unbanning everyone. Im definitely a twitter failing accelerationist.

Not only that, prepare to hear a lifetime of, “THAT COMMIE BIDEN STOPPED FREE SPEECH ADVOCATE ELON MUSK FROM BUYING TWITTER! THATS SOCIALISM!”

This would be fun just to see how quickly Trump would abandon Truth.

What a tool. Please sink the company.

How long until Twitter is overrun by Nazi paraphernalia?

So he’ll unban Trump immediately, which sucks, but that will destroy Truth Social, which is kind of amusing. Maybe they can get Ye to buy that too.

I truly think trump on twitter is bad for him/republicans it makes it a little harder for country club republicans to bury their heads in the sand.

I’m deleting twitter as soon as he controls it, someone tell me what the replacement twitter is when it comes about.

Prediction: Twitter will be fine, Musk will stay rich, the 21st century will continue to be horrible.

I honestly dont see how twitter services its debt. $700MM of EBITDA, at least $1B of interest expense, 90% of revenue from advertising heading into a recession.

And huge negative trends for digital ads generally. If YouTube is down 7% that seems quite bad for twitter

Yeah just seems like an uphill fight, especially if capital markets quasi-closed.

Definitely expect mass layoffs there sooner rather than later.

Wtf do they even have a workforce for? In the last 10 years they… Made tweets longer? Have little geolocation tags? Embedded videos?

None of that matters either, it only exists because journalists randomly started using it and it stuck.

twitter deal doesn’t have the same feel as murdoch buying myspace (also two orders of magnitude more expensive than that), but i simply don’t see whre it can improve. 3/4 of workforce layoff would be significant savings, but it almost always sacrifices users and ad reventue.

In the future everyone will work as a content moderator for a handful of social media sites. That will be the only job left.

I hope it pays better than here.
