Donald J. Trump thread XXX: Hail to the Thief

Nun is leader of the consequences crowd. He still thinks it’s 1997.

Be nice. Especially when you are wrong.

Not 30 min ago you posted that the republicans won’t confirm a Trump appointee. You are simply detached from reality dude. No need to get angry because I am pointing out reality.

Good job proving how. To replace a resignation for a cabinet position, the immediate replacement has to have been previously Senate confirmed for another position or has to have been in a Senior position in the department for 90 days. Patel fulfills neither, but if Wray were fired Patel supposedly could be put in as Acting, Trump’s favorite way of going around the Senate in his first term.

You called me the leader of the consequences crowd which I absolutely am not. So f*** off.

I bet you thought Gaetz would get confirmed too. I knew he wouldn’t.

You clearly didn’t listen to the source I posted.

If gaetz had made it to a vote his chance of success was 100%.

I tease you because for reasons passing understanding, and contrary to all available evidence, you still have faith in both republicans doing the right thing and America’s system inoculating you from trump. There is simply no evidence for either and it’s frankly dangerous to keep pretending either is true.

I am happy to bet if you like that no matter who trump puts up exactly zero will not pass the vote. Care to bet?

lol

Rules lol

This is what they are talking about. Consequences and rules. It doesn’t work like that anymore.

what are they gonna do IMPEACH HIM

Or CONVICT HIM

I’d be down for a third impeachment without conviction. May as well set another record.

Zero chance he gets impeached because that means they lose the house in the midterms, which will be very hard to do when we switch to “one county, one vote”.

Does dropping out before the vote count as failing to get confirmed? I think nunnehi considers that a failure. I’m not sure if you do.

Whoever makes it to a vote seems highly likely to be confirmed because anyone who won’t will probably drop out first so there ends up being no vote.

No it doesn’t because he was forced out purely because republicans didn’t want to have to vote against him. Obviously we will never know but I would happily bet money that had he made it to a vote he would have been approved.

As I said earlier, standing offer to bet none of trumps appointees are denied. It baffles me there are people still acting like this Republican Party is ever under any circumstances going to do the right thing.

Anyone who would fail a confirmation vote will most likely be forced out to avoid having a failed confirmation vote, so of course if they make it to an actual vote they are almost certain to be confirmed.

If I liked to bet on politics, I would consider a bet on whether everyone who gets nominated gets confirmed (not counting Gaetz or anyone else who has already dropped out), but not on whether every nominee who gets to a confirmation vote gets confirmed.

Look at this thin-skinned baby. Suing someone for getting a poll wrong.

It’s not that. He’s sending a message. You fucked with me or fuck with me now. I’m going to get you.

Except that he’s not going to get them. Unless of course he gets some Trumpy judge to see it his way. Otherwise, it’s just a frivolous lawsuit.
