Donald J Trump: Rip Van Winkle edition

So, if there’s a strategy meeting between top aides and a lawyer who made the payment with Trump at this meeting, along with a history of catch and kill, you don’t think this is circumstantial enough to believe he knew enough to know what he was doing? My understanding, not following closely, is that Trump hoped to avoid paying before the election so he could make it disappear and not pay her at all if he won. That’s like textbook knowledge that was he was doing was not on the up and up. Just like him saying that he would have written it off if anything like that was going on. No, he specifically wouldn’t because he’s trying to cover up a crime and was hoping it would be buried under Cohen’s expenses (Cohen is a big problem for Trump on this case but it’s also too bad he’s an a-hole who has some credibility issues). I hope the idiot testifies and he might be dumb enough to do it just to try to get around his gag order.

He is toast on this case in any reasonable presentation of the prosecution. Lawyers were probably chosen for the jury to help them understand why some of this stuff is illegal. I’d think the only reason lawyers were allowed on in a case like this is because of the semantics involved. Now, could those lawyers distort the evidence if they’re Trump supporters? Sure, but then just about everyone has a mad dislike for lawyers. That means if the other jurors sense they’re up to something like that they’ll just ignore everything they say (in that case these lawyers would probably cause the hung jury).

I also agree there’s no way he will get acquitted but a hung jury is certainly on the table based on who was chosen. I’ve been told some A+ legal minds say all he needs is one juror on his side, so I’ll defer to their authority, as they clearly know what they’re talking about.

Funny meme obviously, but his reign did end (Trump). It would be like if in episode 2 they’d successfully deposed him and the rest of the series is about him whining that they took his company away and that he wanted it back. The will they or won’t they is whether he actually beats them and gets his company back instead of him just running it into the ground because he hated his kids so much.

Right. Agree with all that. And I totally believe Trump knew exactly what was going on. But it’s the cover up that needs to be proved. I don’t see what’s stopping the defense from saying yes, his lawyers and others were telling him what needs to be done to help the campaign and get him elected, and he said ok so do it without necessarily knowing what it was exactly they were doing or that it was an attempt to commit election fraud. I’m sure prosecution has more evidence than I’m aware of tho

Why won’t the judge sentence Trump to the four year prison sentence immediately following a conviction?

What other news source do you even need when you got the TROOF?

He is -350 to hang the jury and slide into the 11 pm time slot on OAN before the NBA Finals

Wow! Former A.G. Bill Barr, who let a lot of great people down by not investigating Voter Fraud in our Country, has just Endorsed me for President despite the fact that I called him “Weak, Slow Moving, Lethargic, Gutless, and Lazy” (New York Post!). Based on the fact that I greatly appreciate his wholehearted Endorsement, I am removing the word “Lethargic” from my statement. Thank you Bill. MAGA2024!

If that’s real, it’s actually pretty funny (which makes me wonder if it’s real)

It’s real

Because the democrat ag wasn’t elected until Nov of 2022. Interestingly she won by less than 300 votes out of 2.5M cast.

Nixon was so much better than this shit than Trump. His whole deal was almost always verbally pivoting to the center and then taking hard right actions behind the scenes. It’s how he got elected with no charisma. He was given lemons and made lemonade, carefully and purposefully.

Trump, on the other hand, only ever speaks in the language of the hard right while his actual views, to the extent they exist, are more moderate. Nixon was an excessive strategist about everything, while Trump mainly appeals to people who he (rightly) regards as rubes. Trump could have played dime-store Bill Clinton and been reelected, but he’s too much of a dipshit.

When you go back and think about Trump’s presidency and the time immediately both before and after, there are so, so many fucked up things. Makes my head spin. But I keep coming back to this. I absolutely cannot believe this happened:

Yeah it’s definitely #1 for me. The press conference where he suggested putting disinfectant or lights inside the body to kill COVID is close.
