Trump said he will abide by the decision, so one effect of lowering the bond, in theory, is that he won’t go further trying to appeal the amount.

I really thought the anti-trump art would be better and more widespread. We’re getting Civil War but that doesn’t seem to involve any serious political engagement. We need a cross between veep and the Sopranos.

No one is saying he hasn’t gotten away with a ton of stuff in his business life and as president where he escaped conviction on two impeachments, countless emolument clause violations and god knows what else. But that doesn’t subtract from the fact that since leaving office he has already LOST 2 civil cases, and has been brought up on 91 felony charges in 3 other criminal cases all of which, to my knowledge, have not been dropped and are ongoing
@nunnehi and @iron81 (and I’d include myself) are simply being objectively agnostic about the current reality of events. We acknowledge the possibility of a cowardly and incompetent AG, a corrupt Florida judge, and SCOTUS along with a maddening slow and imperfect justice system. You on the other hand, are taking a famously flawed “the past equals the future” approach to analysis. All that can be said of your take is that you’ll continue to be right until you’re wrong

The word LOST assumes consequences when in the actual world he has gotten way richer, paid $0 and spent zero days in jail. It’s been almost 4 years since he stopped being president. He is a favorite to be president again.
Your worldview relies on the deeply corrupt system becoming uncorrupt in the next 8 months for insert reasons.

Yesterday was a huge inflection point in your worldview. It was suppose to be the first day of actual consequences but instead the court gave him a $260 million dollar gift, more time and the SEC blessed a multi billion buyout of his tiny social media site from an anonymous source that results in Trump moving way up the richest people on earth list.

He is worse in many ways but the most obvious one is he is the only one that elicits religious devotion from his followers. Zero chance any other republican inspires the insurrection.

All that can be said of the “courts will save us” take is that so far it is batting exactly 0% on its prediction of meaningful consequences for Trump. Which is more rational, the view that has no empirical evidence that it is correct or the one that is undefeated so far?
One side is basing their opinions on faith and the other in observing reality.
