Sir, donât look at it sir!
The check is in the mail, she should be getting it any day now
I assume this is going to be reduced to like $3 and a pair of Mike Tysons boxing gloves on appeal?
As I sometimes note, people here need to learn to take a win.
This is one for the history books, literally.
âDonât let them win! Donate $85 million to me to show you wonât be silenced!â
Weâre in the finding out stage of the proceedings.
Iâm more optimistic than most in thinking that if he doesnât win the election, his life as he knows it, is over. But jfc our judicial system is infuriating. God knows when heâll ever have to cough up a dime. Ditto for Guiliani. Bannon was convicted almost 2 years ago and has yet to see the inside of a jail. And who knows about Navarro? In the meantime, some of the lowest level grunts of J6 have been tried, convicted, sentenced, and are out of jail already. Truly infuriating
So apparently he needs to post a bond in order to appeal.
Who the fuck is going to sell him a bond? Idk what civil bonds are but if they are 10% like criminal it would be massively stupid.
Why is this âone for the history booksâ?
The only âwinâ that I see is that it seems to be pissing him off. (Which is nice, donât get me wrong.)
$83 million is more than pissing him off, itâs likely more than his liquidity.
As for history, in 100 years people will know some asshole former president named Trump was found liable for almost $100 mil because he was a rapist. Just as one would know similar about Zachary Taylor or whomever.
Itâs also another major step in the realignment of the GOP.
But is he actually going to pay it?
Itâs not a choice. He gets to appeal, but this isnât some bullshit unsettled legal issue like presidential powers. The sheriff will be selling his plane at auction before long if he doesnât pay up. Hell, as I understand it heâll need to post a cash bond to appeal and it will go straight to Carroll when the 2nd circuit smacks him down.
Remember billionaire SBF? This judge put him away. (Final sentencing in March.)
