So two days ago it was a (very calm, totally not mad) “I’ve said all I need to say and have nothing more to add!” and now it’s “These MFs are gagging me!!”

But the Smith request can be readily handled through a telephone conference and circulated memos. Unlike for cases that come up through the regular appeals process, cert before judgment usually takes five, not four, votes.

You couldn’t write a fictitious country dumber than the US where you have to ask the Supreme Court if a former president is absolutely and forever immune for any crimes committed while in office. In a movie this would be such a bad plot point the author would fail any screenwriting class.
