Saw an interesting YouTube suggesting that since we the people were the victim of the coup attempt we have a right to see the trial. Would be a huge television event if it happens, might even have to get cable to see it live if none of the streamers get it.

I don’t think what the US needs is a massive circus around the most toxic human to ever hold office. That is some pretty odd medicine no?
Feels like less trump is the antidote. Not more.
On the other hand, if it isn’t televised we’re going to have the Trump lawyers spewing bullshit everyday about what happened at the trial and no one from the prosecutor’s side saying anything because they can’t. Imagine the shit Trump is saying during the NY trial but worse.
I think a bunch of Trump telling lies about what we’ve just seen is better than him telling lies about a bunch of stuff we didn’t see.

8 years ago I would have agreed but if we have learned anything it should be the actual truth is 100% irrelevant. All that matters in US politics now is the theatre and Trump wins every time he gets the stage. He is going to lie either way, as are his minions. Having it fact checked by a feckless court and a complicit media isn’t going to somehow cleanse America.
I really hope I am wrong.
I still have to hope that truth will do better against his bullshit than silence but it may be too late for that.
