I’m not cool enough to know who that is from that picture

I have a ticket to see Ween in Troutdale on July 2nd

Guided By Voices at a club in DC in June

2nd on the waiting list for Neko Case at Levon Helm Studio in Woodstock NY

Stupidly put off buying a ticket to Floydfest in Bumfuck rural Virginia to see Turnpike Troubadours and now it’s sold out and I’m not sure you can get scalper tix for it

Look at all the yellow light. It’s obviously Cold Play

Yeah they’re pretty much my musical hero/idol the past 3 or 4 years now after I finally started investigating their whole solo catalog

Edit: oh it seems like she’s using she pronouns now. I could swear it was they for a while. Going to look it up and feel stupid if it never was

I have this really clear memory of seeing “they” on her twitter but can find no confirmation and I bet it’s just a false memory

My bad if using wrong pronouns. I used to listen to New Pornographers a lot, Neko’s voice is just incredible

EDIT: Sir Case, sing us into the night

I guess half of Heidecker’s show is his music, but who knows at one of his shows. I never knew he made so much music, his new stuff has a ~ 1998 feeling. I definitely could’ve been listening to this freshman spring break in Ensenada

Warning this song will be stuck in your head tomorrow

New Pornographers are playing here this summer, saw them with Neko in maybe 09, hope she’s on this tour.

Have my first post covid show tomorrow, Caribou.

Here’s her tour dates, if you want to see if they conflict with your show

Not listed nor conflicted(july date), it’s at a festival so I was probably only going whichever day Japanese Breakfast were playing anyway. Modern festivals are overpriced unless they’re as good as Primavera or some of the other top tier ones.

The mid 90s were the apex of bang for your buck festivals

In Huntsville, AL we had an annual Fri/Sat/Sun festival with 5 stages, headliners such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, weekend passes like 20 bucks

There’d be a rock stage, pop, country, swamp, and old folks music stage

Kids running around unsupervised

A karaoke stage. Incredible food trucks

Paradise. Surrounding the central downtown park, spring, and lagoon

I went to HORDE I think in 1998 at Portland Meadows and it was like Blues Traveler, Ben Harper, Barenaked Ladies and Smashing Pumpkins as the headliners and it was probably less than $50! Buy a few Busch cans for $1 each from hippies in the parking lot and just have an absolutely amazing day. That truly feels like a different life these days.

Saw caribou open for the killers a while ago. Fun band

Wife and I have so many concerts this year (like every year)

Big ones are Coldplay in Chicago and we saw the eagles last month

But it’s a never ending stream of B level bands that roll through here

War on drugs Alt J Jack White Manchester O Joywave Spoon. Royal blood. This is just the last 6 weeks

I’m off to see The Smile tonight (Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood side project). I’ve listened to a grand total of a half hour of their stuff so this will be interesting. Who knows, maybe I’ll be blown away (will be into the edibles).

Could go in non-political rants thread… but

Why the fuck doesntSpotify advertise concerts to me?

Like. You know what music I like. You know where I live. Help me the fuck out here.

I’m not going to go and look for this. So I’m just gonna miss it.

Why don’t concert promoters buy more ads on Spotify?
