LFS had the first word, but I would frame it as the issue that has arisen is that I believe support for “trans rights,” and particularly allowing people to participate in sports based on their gender identity instead of biological sex, is a corrosive political view whose embrace (or lack of challenge) by the democratic left has been harmful to the electoral prospects of the democratic party.
I have also argued that trans rights supporters typically try to bully people and silence dissent from the position that gender is, by definition, a function of self-identity, and it is wrong to challenge self-identity or accommodations related to it (such as placement of trans-identified convicts in women’s prison).
Now, the issue is that certain posters on this site believe such views, though supported by between 65-75% of the population (depending on the poll), are a form of “hate speech” and should not be subject to debate. I think this is simply another way to silence dissent in an effort to manifest a false consensus where non exists.
In any event, I am the domain name registrant for unstuckpolitics.com and have paid for its renewals, etc. (because someone had to do it). I have sought to use this “power” to ensure that he site was kept online and so no one could threaten the continued viability of the site.
LFS has suggested that I should not maintain registration of the site if I am going to continue to be “hateful” towards trans rights. So, I suggested to him that I would transfer the site if an anonymous poll agreed that I should no longer hold the domain. This is that poll.
Should Simplicitus retain or transfer ownership of the
unstuckpolitics.com domain name? [this poll is anonymous]
If it transfer wins I would transfer the domain name to either LFS or Suzzer, because I trust them to maintain confidentiality and not abuse the position. What they do with the name would be up to them, assuming they at least agreed to continue paying $15 or whatever for yearly renewals. I am also fine with maintaining the registration and continuing to pay for renewals as I have in the past.
