I’ve just objectively proven it’s a myth, sorry if you can’t handle that. You know as well as I do what happened right before Super Tuesday. As for helping the cause, Biden isn’t the cause. Fucking Sanders isn’t the cause; Sanders endorsed Biden.

Maybe they should have seen the inevitable consolidation coming and reached out to other candidates before Super Tuesday. A core competence in politics is coalition building.

If people want to vote for Biden because they believe he is better than Trump, I respect their choice. However to call Tara Reade a liar and smear her despite the corroborating evidence that exists shows that their opinion on the MeToo movement is performative and does a disservice to victims of assault. I cannot say with certainty what happened, but from what I know from her case and sexual assault in general, it would lead me to believe her story. If you think Biden is guilty and choose him over the other rapist, it’s a logical calculation (and disgusting that this is the choice we were given). To dismiss her accusation based on the information presented is gross from people claiming to care about this issue.

My impression has been that the “bernie bro” thing is just a typical astroturf smear, the eDem benghazi. They started it so early and in such a concerted way that I’m baffled by how many otherwise intelligent people seem to breathlessly focus on it (especially on 2p2). I can only assume it’s because they want to to “win” whatever battle they think they’re fighting rather than it being any kind of legitimate concern about anyone’s behavior.
Now we’ve got to the depressingly predictable point where any remotey principled stand on actual policy issues that leads to criticism of Biden is being lumped under the “bernie bro” banner. This is such a nakedly toxic suppression tactic that the term is just a heuristic for the person using it at this point.

I mean, there’s an underlying thesis being promoted that hard left upper middle class white guys (who are also misogynistic racists I think?) is a discrete demographic large enough to dominate the political conversation. This subset is somehow so uniquely disruptive that we have to point it out as a qualifier before discussing anything at all.
You literally can’t talk about whether Joe Biden raped someone without it being framed around yeah but look how annoying this group of people are. Which is just an intentional reincarnation of how they always win.

I mean, weirdly, most people involved in this thread at the moment are all kind of correct in their own way (imo); they’re just all defining terms a little differently and focusing on different aspects. I agree that the BernieBro tag is tossed around too lightly and broadly.
But on the other hand, the reality of what you hear from those Chapo-type vitriolic and very-online cats is hard to ignore. And when you’re getting hectored to #believeWomen by the same cohort that gleefully transmogrified a credible female into a snake and had no issue with immediately #notbelieving her when she related a private conversation with Bernie, it can be frustrating. It should be ignored, because it’s a minority of Bernie’s supporters, but it’s hard. And all of that comes tied up with the fact that those same follks don’t really seem to have an issue with allowing an admitted sexual assaulter win reelection so long as it keeps the power away from creepy Joe Biden or Copala Harris or #GOPete or SnakeEmoji or CorporateBooker or whatever.

See I think stretching #believeWomen to cover this scenario is more disingenuous than what’s being described here. This is was a political attack in the context of the debates about a private conversation which seems to fly in the face of everything anyone knows about Bernie. It didn’t seem credible at all and it was clearly coordinated between the dnc, cnn etc. By this logic in order to be consistent we should believe Palin, or Laura Ingraham.

Like, the only way in which that is even remotely true is if your minimum threshold for change is enacting single-payer Healthcare and, like, ending corporate personhood. It completely ignores, as just one example, the last 5 months of the bananna-republic-level of corruption and incompetence on display with the Trump administration’s handling of the COVID pandemic. It’s not even that you’re shrugging off the tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths, you’re so privileged and, I guess ignorant about all the things that the President does?, you can’t even recognize all the ways in which Trump’s corrupt incompetence is seriously fucking up our country and devastating the lives of millions of people BEYOND what eDem governance has done.
