The circumstances were different last time. 2020 is fundamentally a referendum on the incumbent and requires a different strategy than 2016.

I agree with everyone that the Dems suck at everything. Like, ok, conceded.
But I the idea that the people in this thread calling for a Pro-Biden ad are ever gonna look at one and say, “Yup, that’s a good ad” is fucking hilarious.

I would add Group C - those who are/lean democrat but for whom the opportunity cost of taking time off to vote outweighs the perceived value of the vote itself.
One of the best ways to shift that mental equation is to alert/remind them that not voting means putting their lives in the hands of an orange monstrosity (see also: tangerine tyrant, apricot authoritarian).

I think Trump is so uniquely awful that you have to go negative and shove his vulgarity, stupidity and corruption down the electorate’s throat.
That said, it shouldn’t be that hard to throw in a few lines about health care or whatever.

Probably is dumb of him to keep the empty promises on the down low. That’s one of the things Trump does that really works. The bigger the lie the more you broadcast it and if you’re called on it, just lie harder.

So it’s unfalsifiable? No matter what he says he is just lying so it’s irrelevant what ads he runs or what policies he releases.
Yes? Trump gave his base a reason to go out and vote for him. He promised them jobs and a magic wall. Making America great again, he campaigned on his policies. The Biden campaign seems to have no raison d’etre. The viewer isn’t told how Dems will do a better job or why they shouldn’t just stay home on Election Day.

Well, yeah. Most of the people here aren’t going to ever be satisfied with Biden.
I’m talking about ads that reach and engage the low information voters that generally don’t care about politics and may or may not vote. “TRUMP=BAD” isn’t gonna cut it with them.
Obama had a message that reached them. So did Bill Clinton.
Gore, Kerry and Hillary didn’t.
One of these groups won.
It was pretty hard to find Biden’s pro Biden ads. I had to go to YouTube.
Seriously, WTF is going on with the Lincoln imagery in this ad? JFC, Dems are so scared of their own ideas that they’re glorifying Republicans. I fully expect to see John McCain in a Biden ad.
It is entirely plausible that Joe Biden was a fucking creep to basically every woman in his office for decades but managed not to rape anyone.
