Democratic Primaries 2020 - Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Because Obama.

You have zero idea what you are talking about. It’s a contest for President of the United States of America.

stopping bloomberg by joining him, got it

nobody campaigned in Iowa in 92 and that guy dropped out immediately after NH after he got 4 votes or so

Nate Silver’s model has biden 65% to win dems abroad. I’ll be really surprised if that isn’t at least 20 points in favor of bernie.

Fuck CNN. They just called Mississippi for Bernie at poll closure by accident, then immediately switched to Biden. For like 3 seconds I thought, OMG WE ARE BACK IN THIS!!! Fuckers.

Probably dumb, basic question: doesn’t the nature of the primaries/caucuses - that is, spreading them out over weeks - lend itself to a snowball effect for Biden? He didn’t do great in the first round, but then he crushed in SC (which everyone expected) and every was like, “Whoa, he’s back in it!”

That gave those who weren’t sure if they were going to bother the confidence to go out on Super Tuesday and vote for Biden. He rolled. That probably gave him more momentum for this week, as voters who might not really care who wins decide to vote for a winner. At the same time, Sanders voters might be forlorn and figure there’s no point.

It would be the same if it the roles were reversed. Just seems weird to do it this way instead of all 50 states (plus Samoa or wherever) at once.

Now she’s throwing her career away? Lol. You’re really showing off how you feel about the left here

Yes, but on the flip side it gives an upstart candidate a chance to build momentum early, gain media coverage and get more attention and donations. If all 50 states voted on the same day in 2008, Hillary probably beats Obama. In 2016, Hillary absolutely crushes Bernie.

Like winning the first 3 states?

WAAF

It’s definitely better, but they should have the first primary in a different small state, one that has more demographic diversity. Also no caucuses and ranked choice voting.

It really does seem like the whole point of warrens campaign was to make sure Bernie didn’t win. She played it perfectly

the best you can say is that she’s an opportunistic hack that coopted things like Medicare for All in the Senate to build her own personal brand

the mediums that you can say is that what she is currently doing is indistinguishable from an establishment plant to siphon votes from the progressive wing

yeah i’m pretty pissed that medicare for all got knifed by this snake. it’s a life or death issue. people still simping for her at this point are tiresome idiots who pretended to be progressives. everyone with a moral compass is already in the bernie camp. we’ve got fools like Wookie actually defending her personal ambition. y’all are some disappointing individuals

Warren didn’t deny Bernie anything. All her voters went to Biden. Stop blaming Warren.

(Of course shes an opportunistic liar, that’s beside the point).

It seems pretty obvious the working class now votes Republican, for the most part.

Hurts Bernie a lot when the party isn’t his base.
