The people who vote against him don’t actually care about dementia either, but they also don’t actually care about emails.
Trump is hammering this. Biden is drawing live only because of coronavirus. He’s the nut low candidate although Bloomberg beats him only because of money.
Warren should withhold her endorsement for maximum leverage. If Bernie looks like he has a shot to get a majority of delegates, she will endorsement him if it has a chance to put him over the top. If Bernie falls hopelessly behind, she will use an endorsement of Biden to signal that it’s over and Bernie has no chance. She will wait until the convention if it looks like no one will get a majority.
I’m not sure that there’s much of a difference between the two in ability to beat Trump. A generic Democrat can beat Trump. Bernie is higher variance, with his ability to bring in young voters possibly offset by him losing moderates to some degree. I want to believe that Bernie would do better than Biden, but Super Tuesday tells me…maybe not.
Bernie still a big dog w/ Warren’s endorsement, which is exactly why she won’t do it out of self-interest… but as a big dog, Bernie needs all the help he can get.
A generic Democrat has an excellent chance of beating Trump. The non-Democrats are the questionable ones. Bloomberg faces defections from the left and Bernie faces defections from the center/right, but at least Sanders offers up a path for making up those votes by activating some unlikely voters.
My expectation has always been that any of the centrists in the race would out-perform Hillary Clinton against Trump. You don’t need to do that by very much to beat Trump.
The question is kinda what could have been done on here to get you to actually vote for bernie. It should have been easy, he was your second choice and your first choice dropped out. But I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that there was literally nothing anyone here could have done to get you to vote for bernie. So where does that leave us? Sure, it makes sense that you would want people to be nice to you, but that doesn’t get anyone anywhere.
I don’t think you have to be nice, but some people completely lack the empathy for understanding why someone would have a different preferred candidate. Not all Bernie Bros are toxic, but the bad ones seem to apply inaccurate labels on anyone who disagrees in order to feed a martyr complex.
Looking forward to a one hour special on how Bernie Sanders’ out of touch 1920s Stalinist sexism has led to defeats for Hillary and Warren and also to coronavirus which disproportionately impacts 90±year-olds who as a group are disproportionately women but never impacted either Fidel or Raoul Castro.
There are not enough voters out there who like Trump for him to get reelected- his only path is for Sanders backers to refuse to vote Biden or for Biden backers to refuse to vote Sanders if their candidate of choice doesn’t win the Democratic nomination. The race is going to be a toss up even if anti-Trump voters don’t fully come together- but it may not even end up being that close if they do come together.
This is another reason why Biden is fucking awful. On the longshot Dems scoop and control everything, we’ll squander one of the extremely rare and perhaps last chances ever at changing anything. Bernie has already previewed using reconciliation completely at his discretion and ignoring the parliamentarian. Joe is [I’m guessing] in favor of bringing back the filibuster? Then we getting slaughtered in the midterms and Moscow goes back to blocking everything including justices.
Unpopular opinion: Chapo types going hard at Warren after she was dead was super dumb and counter productive, not because it alienated Warren supporters but because it gave the media an excuse to push “Bernie voters are mean” stories in lieu of “Biden is sundowning” or really anything else.
Funny how much all this is tied into perception. I can’t think of anything Biden has said on immigration, economy, etc that would move a needle. Just Biden did good on Super Tuesday so now he’s best at everything.
I mean I have literally no doubt that Biden will have more votes than Trump when all is said and done. In fact, Trump will almost certainly receive fewer votes than he got last time. But am I wrong that it comes down to MI, PA, and AZ? Maybe NC? There’s no way the idiots in WI, OH, or FL aren’t voting in Trump.
Assuming Trump wins, he’s going to win without winning the popular vote again, yes?
