Democratic Primaries 2020 - Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

And imagine how much stronger Bernie will be now that he’s captured more of the dem base as well as expanded the electorate

Current polling agrees with you that Biden has a better shot. If we can run it twice: one general election campaign with Biden as the nominee and one with Sanders, do you think Biden will still have the higher win probability in November?

Yup CNN gone and messed up here, yang ain’t got no poker face

well without knowing which R attack ads will stick or not; I can only go by now.

I think both win pop vote, but flipping FL means basically it’s over dem wins and losing PA is still a huge problem to get to 270 (something like NC+GA or TX? Yikes). Simple as that. Biden has a lot better chance in both states (FL is either bernie’s worst or his 2nd worst state, and he’s repeatedly stated he’s against fracking which is not something you want your candidate to say when you need PA)

Bernie can still win of course, I just think he has the tougher road is all.

So much for civility!

well if people who weren’t political nerds who weren’t voting for Bloomberg anyway (which I presume nearly everyone talking about this on twitter is) watched this, his campaign is completely dead. If not, idk. Depends on how many people see the TV narrative I guess.

That was shocking how bad he was. Twice he stumbled on shots literally everyone knew were going to happen tonight.

Bernie defended shots well, there’s still three big ones on him that nobody has brought up yet but it looks like those will have to wait till the general, seems unlikely to me warren made enough of a dent in bernie’s support and everyone else was mostly attacking each other.

It’s true. I used to be a lurker on 2+2 (and for good reason, apparently!) I’m on everyone’s side here, but not enough to where your conviction that you are 100% correct is absolute and everyone else is a garbage person.

We’re 9ish months out from THE presidential election of them all. I’m voting for Bernie, or god forbid, whomever the nominee is (that’s actually said without my passive aggressiveness for once.)

This place is a circle jerk. And that’s ok. There’s nothing wrong with that. You’ve got skydiver and that’s some diversity. Enjoy being right.

I came.

LOL Biden has the worst shot of anyone. Like look at how his polling drops in the primaries and/or how he under performs polls once the voters in each state start actually paying attention. Now imagine that affect in a nationwide race.

Florida is basically irrelevant. If we win it, we already won big.

I disagree. FL is quite a bit different than the rust belt swing states. I don’t think it’s impossible that democrats could lose WI, PA, MI, but win FL and AZ and pull it off. Maybe not a likely scenario, but not completely off the radar.

It’s extremely unlikely, Florida is Trumpier and also has a Republican governor and secretary of state, so you can count on some shenanigans at best.

Steyer > Warren for lots of reasons but this is a big one.

The big reason he’s better than her is because he has more money than her?

Close.

He supports Bernie instead of stabbing him in the back with fake arrowheads.

You got me. This place will be huge in no time because it’s so welcoming.

Later dudes! Let’s throw the lowlife out of office this year!

I get your point, all I’m saying is what I can tell atm–Trump has more ways to win with bernie than he does with biden. Pete beat Biden in NH/IA but while I did appreciate the mondale line, probably just torpedoed him in MN, a state they need. and well he’s one of those guys who says a lot of words but it’s really nothing, which is probably good politically and business but man does that piss people like this forum and myself off.

fwiw, I think Biden mostly lost votes from impeachment going after him and then bloomberg in the south from ad spamming (which he’ll get back if people actually saw that debate). Iowa was never a biden state anyway. If you want to point to NH sure but bernie is just okay I guess there for the general.

I’m also saying right now, not november as I’m not sure which attack R’s are gonna go use on bern (biden is obvious but his HU polls still haven’t moved much despite it) (well the obvious is whatever sticks, logic is irrelevant) but they have several solid ones to choose from (the other dems have only done the weakest ones so far (blooms being completely pathetic), that might change as bernie gets a lead here after super tuesday).

The ridic thing is how has it given absolutely nobody here at least a pause that Trump has only been super nice to sanders and parroted some things repeated a lot here (hint on those: this forum is wrong) rather than the opposite he’s done for literally everyone else.

Trump also has a way simpler message than any dem does which is another problem entirely atm. Hopefully bernie can counter that and NOT with the word socialism.

Biden is an older, less coherent, less inspirational 2016 HRC.

As for the theory that the GOP/Trump want to run against Bernie? Okay, cool. The Democratic Party was thrilled to run against Trump in 2016. It’s a time for populism, for the 99% to take back some power from the 1% and we need to run our real populist against their conman populist.

As for Trump specifically being nice to Bernie, he’s just trying to sow discord within the party with those tweets. Don’t read more into it than that.

All bets are off this election in Florida. Seems that felons will indeed get to vote this round.

Civility is essential for a win.
