Wait, someone called him an antisemite? Lol.
They are literally calling bernie bros digital brownshirts and talking about how Bernie doesn’t support Isreal. They are afraid to say it explicitly because they know they will get laughed off the air but the inference is clear.
Are you serious? It’s been going on for months.
The rogan endorsement issue wasn’t that Rogan endorsed Bernie. It was that Bernie publicly welcomed an endorsement from somebody with very narrow minded views on race and gender. If the campaign thinks those issues really aren’t that important they can say so. If they want to say that the Bernie campaign is just another mainstream big tent dem, like Obama and Clinton they can do that also. What really doesn’t work is celebrating the rogan endorsement and at the same time calling people like Clinton, Obama, Colin Powell etc corporate war mongers. That doesn’t work because your super high standards have suddenly disappeared now that it’s politically expedient to relax them. The online bernie bros (here and more important places) do that and it’s clearly an after the fact purely political justification.
Right, accepting endorsements from unwoke podcasters = the Iraq war.
Gtfo
Bernie is trying to build a big tent, it just has room for people like Rogan rather than Kissinger, Powell and billionaires.
Young people are overwhelmingly fine with this, the establishment is not.
I don’t get the upside to this. The people who gaf about what Rogan thinks know about the endorsement already. Just let Rogan say whatever and carry on.
2 year anniversary for this tweet
That’s the point with berniebros. If you want to tell me Bernie is just another politician along the lines of Clinton Obama etc that’s fine, and still I’ll vote for him. Because he’ll be like them and they were good presidents.
But If you’re trying to sell me some kind of revolution where we’re going to divide US history 50+ years from now and into the before Bernie and after Bernie era (like historians actually do with FDR and Reagan) then things like his views on Rogan matter.
This conversation was over after ChrisV hit the 360 windmill dunk.
Yes it really was.
I don’t think I was trying to tell you anything except that it’s absurd to compare a podcaster and MMA impresario’s endorsement to prosecuting the Iraq war.
We are talking about who to accept/brag about endorsements from as a dem in 2020. Rogan is not on that list especially if you’re Bernie Sanders and race/gender issues are already a weakness. It’s not absurd because the Powell endorsement of Obama was used by Bernie folks to soften the optics of the Bernie acceptance tweet. I mean Rogan is also an idiot and Powell clearly isn’t but that’s a completely different issue.
I love that even in 2018, before anybody outside of Indiana knew the guy’s name, Twitter was correctly needling Pete for being a healthcare fraud.
I assure you it’s perfectly absurd.
Well… the name you left out there is Obama. Without him/them the tent gets very small.
