I always cut/break the 6-pack rings and am older than zz younger brother.

I sew multiple 6-pack rings together just because Iā€™m not gonna let anybody tell me what to do.

Good thing my parents were racists.

Does your town burn its trash?

Probably landfill.

Why isnā€™t the solution to buy bottled beer which usually tastes better anyway, and recycle?

Iā€™m missing something obvious here and am about to feel very stupid.

Itā€™s more expensive.

Draft > canned > bottled, although if you factor in cleanliness of the draft beer system, canned wins.

Ā£20 for 12 bottles versus Ā£17.50 for cans. Iā€™ll take the bottles any time.

I think the differences are probably pretty subtle, but cans in theory should do an even better job of keeping out light and air than bottles do.

Forty years ago my first college girlfriend and I were planning to attend a friendā€™s birthday house party to which we would be walking a couple of miles to get there.

We had agreed to bring a 12 pack of beer, and given our need to walk, I wanted to buy cans, since I was the one who would be carrying them. Emily thought bottles were classier, and that we should bring those.

I canā€™t remember which kind we bought that I had to carry, but I do remember that one of us was pretty pissed off and we fought the whole way there and even through the party. Iā€™m pretty sure we broke up not too long after.

Flash forward to today. Emily and her husband of 30 years moved to my town last year (in a different state from where we grew up and went to college), and earlier this week she was my transportation for my cataract surgery.

Didnā€™t know that carrying weights for long distances could have long term term effects on ones eyes, but good of her to finally recognise that.
