COVID-19: Chapter 9 - OMGicron

By CA do you mean Canada or California?

California

I think he means California and I don’t think there’s any chance colleges are getting shut down.

Same - unless Omicron somehow turns out to be more dangerous than Delta. There is no will for it right now.

Yeah, this seems inconsistent with “LOL no need to worry if you’re vaccinated”

Just to put it in perspective, of the about 1,400 people hospitalized, less than 200 (or 16 percent) are vaccinated. And many of them are older or have other conditions.

EDIT: This is Washington. Actual numbers are small:

Really interesting thread about the exciting possibility that both Delta and Omicron will become endemic!:

We were hoping that the first two jabs [of AZ] would last longer than they have.

That doesn’t contradict what was said. Can you provide a link with full comment, or are you pulling one sentence from a tv show? Editing the quote makes it not easily google-able.

I don’t think it will change much in voting in Philly. Then again 5 points in Philly is still really blue but could make a bid difference statewide.

He should also advise the vaccinated not to get ill in the coming months with anything that will need hospital care as it will likely be a bad time to patronize hospitals.

if you can still have a wreck with anti-lock brakes and airbags work, why use brakes at all???

Right, i wasn’t saying that we have evidence either way at this point. However, the statement “AstraZeneca effectiveness has been reduced to basically zero” is completely unsupported.

Dem politicians have a version of the trolley problem where they can save a lot of lives right now by taking actions that ensure a republican lock on government for potentially decades and the untold suffering that brings.

Your quote does not at all back up your earlier post that AZ effectiveness has been reduced to zero. You are not going to be able to back that up, because there is no evidence it is true.

Philly dems are going to vote republican because vaccination proof is required? Can you explain that?

Sure. A whole fuck load of previously politically apathetic people are extremely fired up over the current city mask mandate that is still in effect. Not a whole lot of dems will vote Republican (although I’m sure some will), but republican turnout is going to be record breaking. Basically the people who want and understand the need for these mandates are already voting dem. The people who dont want the mandates are going to show up in huge numbers to vote out the current officials.
