COVID-19: Chapter 9 - OMGicron

The dumbest 25% of America is doing all it can to give COVID at fighting chance at mutating into a vaccine-resistant strain, just astonishing incompetence.

Well, then they’ll just be proven right that the vaccines don’t work. They’ll feel vindicated as we all die.

I wouldn’t be surprised if frequent delta exposure while having a good vaccine response is actually protective for when you get a heavy dose.

Part of the problem is that there’s no social stigma to being in vaxxed and casually telling everyone about it. Riverman is too polite to say anything to his bartender and he/she can always go to Facebook to find a community that supports these dumbass life choices. Meanwhile people in rural areas are getting vaxxed in secret because they know their neighbors will give them shit about it.

idk what things were like when people were getting vaxxed for polio, but I kinda doubt folks were casually telling everyone they wouldn’t get the shot without getting blowback from their communities.

This made my day.

I did muster some comment about how 200 million people have gotten it with no negative effects, but you’re right.

Facebook just needs to be regulated like a utility, which will never happen.

This phenomenon is bigger than Covid. A minority group of bullies is defining the parameters of American life across several dimensions. And they get away with it because everyone else has been conditioned that its bad behavior to interupt them. And bullies are practiced in manipulating this - HOW DARE YOU CALL ME RACIST?!?!? HOW DARE YOU VIOLATE MY FREEZE PEACH?!?!?! HOW DARE YOU VIOLATE MY HIPPO RIGHT!?!?!?

Wait is the line “Australia is under such strict lockdowns we must save the population” with these morons?

I mean, half the people who would regulate it would regulate it in a way to make it worse. Their political power depends on lizard brain anger mashing.

Yea the antivax guy I know who got really sick has explained that him getting really sick is proof that he was right to not get the vaccine.

“of covid” and “with covid”

I didn’t realize this was still a thing. Like if you die in a car crash, they give you a covid test and if positive you get added to the covid death stats.

I guess the rationale is that by inflating the stats, Biden/Fauci keep everybody afraid and pave the way for their totalitarian new world order? Or is it somehow doctors are getting rich by calling everything covid? whynotboth.gif?

In some instances, being willing to die for your beliefs is just batshit crazy.

But I’m still working my way through the ken burns Ali documentary and I’m reminded of what he said when he was persecuted for refusing to be inducted into the army. Not only was he prepared to go to jail, he said he would willingly face a firing squad.

“The price of freedom is high, but I have paid the price, and I am free.”

Noble and inspirational. But I’m left baffled and wondering what the hell is going on in a brain so broken it puts this antivax idiocy on the same moral plane as antiwar.

Social media is basically a tin foiler’s dream since the algorithms are optimized to serve you nonstop conspiracy theories. On Google you actually have to search for them.

They aren’t doing their research on traffic safety or even putting highly flammable liquid into their car.

They aren’t researching anything but beanie baby futures.

Dude is high on his own supply.

Tell him you have gotten Covid really bad three times but the vax stopped you from
having any symptoms.

Because I got bad Covid as an unvaxxed person proves the vaccine doesn’t work.

Not sure how to connect those dots. Can we get this person committted?

Anyway, was able to get a COVID test on very short notice. I’m behind the times on testing because I was surprised to see that PCR tests now collect from the mouth and throat rather than the nose. Was also surprised that how many appointments were open. Then I realized that this was a private center where the test was free but the service of testing the sample was not (cost the equivalent of $10). $10 was worth the short notice appointment though.

Get to spend Thursday chilling out waiting for the results.
