lol, the anti-vaxxer tears responding to his tweets are magnificent.

Hell even if it is biased, this is a really good idea. Anti-vaxxers should go fuck themselves or get a vaccine for their chance to win.

How is it biased? They are creating a link for those not registered to vote to sign up.

If itā€™s legit, itā€™s all good I guess.

I just think itā€™d be easier to use vaccination records. Even better, just give people a couple hundred bucks to each person who got vaccinated and to those who get vaccinated instead of a lottery.

Itā€™s not socialism if I, personally, might benefit from it.

Honestly, I think a chance to win a million dollars is a bigger incentive to the group that is vaccine resistant than a hundred bucks, even if the EV of the milly draw is roughly a dollar.

Wow, I legit canā€™t believe that is real.

Didnā€™t Shirley Jackson warn us about this?

The ā€œBuffalo Bisonsā€? Like with an ā€œsā€ at the end?

Was going to say Maple Leafs is worse, but then I looked and saw that they were named after the Maple Leaf regiment.

So Bisons is worse, unless they are named after that dude in Street Fighter or something.

@BestOf

F. We got our shots in Ohio. Now we gotta sue for being excluded for not being residents. We spent tourism dollars dammit.

because they already purged all the undesirables from the voter database.

So Iā€™m getting Pfizer #2 tomorrow and Iā€™m wondering what my odds are for feeling shitty. Iā€™ve heard a lot of anecdotes but that obviously is not a good predictor.

Anyone got a source of data handy before I start googling?

Take acetaminophen and/or ibuprofen for aches/pains. If you vomit dilute gatorade in a 1:1 mix with water and sip it easy. Zofran odt is the best but you need a prescription.

Vomiting has been more of a moderna thing from what Iā€™ve seen.

Thanks for the quick response and the symptom management advice.

I think I found what I was looking for. It looks like Iā€™m looking at a bit better than even odds of having a reaction along the lines of the stories Iā€™ve been hearing (headache, fatigue).

Systemic Reactogenicity

Systemic events were reported more often by younger vaccine recipients (16 to 55 years of age) than by older vaccine recipients (more than 55 years of age) in the reactogenicity subset and more often after dose 2 than dose 1 (Figure 2B). The most commonly reported systemic events were fatigue and headache (59% and 52%, respectively, after the second dose, among younger vaccine recipients; 51% and 39% among older recipients), although fatigue and headache were also reported by many placebo recipients (23% and 24%, respectively, after the second dose, among younger vaccine recipients; 17% and 14% among older recipients).

ETA: I dug out the 32-page PDF ā€œEUA Fact Sheetā€ I got and it has some tables of rates for this stuff too. Numbers align pretty well with the linked paper.
