My girlfriend is Mexican and just shared a slightly disturbing bit of news. Mexicoâs been going fairly slowly w/the vaccination process, just now getting to the 60s+ age bracket and 7.4% of the population totally vaccinated. Well, she told me that she might actually be able to get the vaccine (sheâs in her 20s) sometime soon. Which is nice for her, but means that a large % of the population is too afraid or uninterested in taking the vaccine. We knew that a sizable % of populations wouldnât take the vaccine, but it might be larger than thought (at least in Latin America).
Also important to note that a large percentage of the âvaccine hesitantâ are just waiting to make sure that everyone who got vaxxed doesnât start dropping dead. More and more of them will be willing to get vaxxed as time goes on.

Literally every company should be doing this. Especially companies with minimum wage making public facing employees, or employees in plants and factories. Itâs massively +EV for those companies to do this.
I am not sure about this. If things start to open back up and people can live their normal lives then motivation to get vaccinated goes way down.
The polling and numbers bear it out. As time goes on more and more from the âwait and seeâ group of vaccine hesitant people are getting vaxxed.

Right but I donât think itâs because they were waiting to see if the early adopters had adverse affects. The data I saw (for Canada) was that the trend was coming from a) family doctors doing direct outreach to people to debunk false narratives and b) pressure from family members to get the vaccine so families can gather safely. I worry that over time those factors will fade.
