I am pretty content with not having any children right now. What an absolute fucking nightmare. I feel for all of you parents trying your best to get through this right now.

These school board showdowns are just so, so depressing. I really don’t see how we can come back from the downward spirsl we’re in where everything becomes a culture war/grievance that starts on fox, gets amplified on social media, and then infects the brains of the absolute dumbest motherfuckers on the planet. Like what the fuck can we do to stop these idiots?

it is, but with the my built up pandemic callousness (no kids), i am now viewing instances of this as a /shrug “we’ll know how that turns out in about 2-4 weeks”.

My wife is considering running for an open school board seat this year. It seems important and she could probably win. But I’m not sure it’s worth the legitimate chance someone shoots up our house.

I just saw two lonely senior citizens holding pitiful homemade signs, trying to get peoples attention on the road leading into a hospital complex.

The only sign I was able to see said “SAY NO TO THE NEEDLE”
