For me it’s a yes. Vaccines still offer a very high level of protection. I mean you just went to Hawaii and rode on planes and stayed in hotels with lots of unvaxed people. This situation seems dramatically less risky to me.

I would so no on the premise that the unvaccinated should be shunned until they become responsible members of society and would use personal safety concerns as a passive aggressive pretext if the family dynamics made saying that outright counterproductive for whatever reason.

Would you guys let an unvaccinated family member stay with you (presuming you are vaccinated, and do not have kids or other unvaccinated people around)?

Fiancee is worried about this and would probably make them quarantine for a few days until enough time passes to get tested. I am feeling more lax about it, since anything bad happening to us feels pretty unlikely (requiring a confluence of them getting COVID on the trip and then our vaccines failing us).

I would not. 50 percent of the reason would be safety and the other 50 percent would be “fuck them for not getting vaccinated.”
