Probably could still have virus particles up in your nose hole after getting immunity, and it takes a few weeks for immunity to kick in after the vaccination.
I would say itās astonishing that itās necessary to say this to anyone currently in a position to get the vaccine, but at this point I guess that would be pretty naive.
Today should be the day we start to see if baby Jesus cured Covid or not.
I assume there are going to be MANY uninformed people who do exactly this. We may see another wave when people go full OFA after getting a first dose
is the 2nd dose the same stuff as the first dose? Same amount? I mean, do they just have one big vat of āvaccineā and you get some, go home, come back in 2 weeks, get more? Or is it like epoxy, two different jabs?
Same right now. But I believe there are some proposed trials to see if getting 1st dose with one vaccine and 2nd dose with a different vaccine is better than getting both of the same.
DeSantis and an editorial in the NYT say otherwise. Letās roll the dice on one shot without all the data. We can vaccinate twice the people.
Believe itās the same. First dose to introduce the antigen to your body. Second dose is to get a bigger and therefore longer immune response
Well letās seeā¦ If itās half as effective with only one dose, we just need 160% of people to get vaccinated for herd immunity!
I would argue that giving vaccines would be one thing your workers would stretch to do and that you need to find other ways to deal with the burn out besides not giving vaccines.
Jesus Christ people are incompetent.
Overrated burger chain makes people sick.
If I had to guess lots of people instead of going into complete isolation for a month and instead go the opposite.
After the first shot, people should go harder in the paint against exposure than ever before. I donāt know the stories of those people, I am just sure lots of people get the first shot and let their guard down, literally the opposite of what one should do.
The vaccine rollout is making the Obamacare website rollout look almost good. Iām quickly losing faith that I will be able to get vaccinated in anything close to a timely fashion.
Iāve got 3 cousins getting the vaccine on January 4th. All in the medical field, but not even close to frontline nurses.
By mandating that the vaccine be cheap/free they have taken all the profit motive away from businesses to allocate resources to administering it. And the government is pretty close to a total no-show so far. As near as I can tell all of the vaccine here is being distributed by hospitals and maybe nursing homes to their workers at the moment. Yes that is where it should be going but the fact we are on a 10% administration pace compared to where we should be is not good.
You canāt have a system that doesnāt incentivize the private market to solve it and have the government refuse to do anything. Thatās where we are.
Itās the same but I think the AZ protocol will be 1 dose followed by a half dose. Apparently s second full dose of their vaccine is not as effective as the half dose for the second injection.
Thanks for correction.
My concern is how easy it will be to screw this up. Add in multiple different vaccine manufacturers and many people will get mishandled.
