COVID-19: Chapter 7 - Brags, Beats, and Variants

Jfc

A 60 minutes interview of Anthony Casso happened to pop up on my home page. It was short and I was bored and watched it. He was an underboss in one of the big NY crime families. Involved in at least 36 murders. Confessed to over 100 crimes. Did a deal to testify in order to be free one day. Violated the terms of the agreement and it was revoked. Got a 455 year sentence.

Why am I posting here? Obvious…I checked his wikipedia page to see where he is now and he died in prison a couple weeks ago from covid.

Gas pipe Casso? Minor mafia nerd, he was a Lucchese guy, I think he may have been involved in the failed hit on Gotti after Gotti had Castellano killed at Sparks.

A guy who I know and used to work with me, prior to working with me, had gotten into a fight with a grown man who beat up his 15 year old cousin. He beat the guy up and, in the heat of the fight, said to leave his cousin alone or he’d kill him. He had no serious history of violent crime. Was not a gang member. He is Black.

He was in jail for 18 months for “terrorist threats”. Was released without going to trial and never convicted of anything.

Yes on all counts. I don’t know the specifics on the Gotti thing, but his wiki said - several attempts to kill Gotti.

Funnily enough, the guy who put Casso’s boss “Tony Ducks” Corallo in jail also recently had covid.

He didn't die though

Re: The earlier discussion about apparently slow vaccine rollouts, I thought this was a pretty good thread.

Summary: he seems to point to a major last mile problem, caused (or at least exacerbated) by the fact that the responsibility for actually getting shots in arms is just getting pushed down the food chain. So, instead of the feds (or even the states) really trying to coordinate the effort, they’re basically leaving the effort up to lots of already overstretched local health authorities, hospitals, and nursing homes. So naturally, some places are doing better at ramping up their efforts than others (but probably all could be doing better with more resources and guidance from the top).

Hang in there my friend and try to disengage from SM, especially Shitbook. I was starting my day every afternoon on the hopper being told to “educate myself” in 10 different arguments. I had to take 6 months off. Good luck !

One thing I am starting to realize is “capitalism” is really just code for corruption and purposefully incompetent/non-existant government. Think about it, are any of us surprised how screwed up the vaccine rollout is? Will any of us be surprised when all of the rich and famous are vaccinated first because they can cut the line with $$$ and influence? Of course not and there won’t be widespread outrage at that because we are conditioned to expect it.

Also the vaccine production was always about making $$$ not saving lives. The companies raced into action either getting large sums of money up front or promised it in contracts down the road. The stocks pumped. All the rich people got richer. In the end getting shots in arms is an afterthought. All the important people don’t die from Covid anyways. They get the best care. And the wealthy made TRILLIONS on their stock holdings. There isn’t any money in actually administering the shot so why bother.

Like other aspects of Covid this problem was already there, Covid just lays it bare because it is life and death. We have the worlds largest government budget and can’t provide healthcare, quality education or meaningful support to the poor. Instead we spend all of our (mostly borrowed) money on overpriced and unnecessary defense contracts to enrich all the ex-government and government connected figures who sit on their boards. The entire system is so far beyond broken and Covid just makes it so undeniably obvious.

I don’t think full (>95%) immunity kicks in until a week or so after the 2nd shot. So sounds like bad luck.

I also sure hope people don’t get their 1st shot and start partying like it’s 1999.

Antibody test or PCR?

If I remember correctly, the mRNA vaccines don’t reach their maximum effect until 1 week following the second dose.

And even then, if it was something like 90% effective, so when billions get it, some tens or hundreds of millions will still get sick.

Man, if someone is lucky enough to get one of the first doses and then engages in any kind of risky behavior before the second, they should be banned from receiving it. No clue how to police that but wow that’d be some sick ass selfish shit to get pozzed between doses.

Yah not judging the person you know - just a general thought that popped into my head thinking about people wasting a pretty life-changing opportunity.
