COVID-19: Chapter 7 - Brags, Beats, and Variants

Got Pfizer yesterday. 2nd shot hurt immediately. I even said “Whoa, I wasn’t expecting that” to the nurse. Was sick for about 12 hrs. I’m fine now except for my arm being sore.

That’s exactly how I was yesterday. I’m fine now.

I got Puerto Rico pretty quickly, but a giant Washington DC off the coast of North Carolina took a minute.

India had been exporting more vaccines, mostly to even poorer countries, than they had been using for themselves and they were the biggest exporter in the world. They stopped exporting as cases have surged.

That 12-15million or whatever last day is quite the nice jump!

I was just reading this one where India is blaming lack of required supplies on the US

Two vaccine producers in India have raised concerns about their ability to meet their production targets.

The largest of these, SII - which produces Novavax and AstraZeneca vaccines - has warned of raw material shortages affecting production.

Its chief executive, Mr Poonawalla, attributed this to US export bans on specific items needed to make vaccines, such as specialised bags and filters.

The 105k jump in the graph above must have a great effect on any vaccine hesitancy.

Most of the 105,000 new cases are from just the one Indian state, albeit the capital state. Must be more than a few reinfections.

Ain’t taking that risk. Prepping my students to go without me just in case. That way, I still get paid.

Hey, at least they have a helpful map to display all vaccination centers in the continental United States in one convenient and easy-to-use graphic!

This has been my concern also. It just seems like the idea of largely using chain-store pharmacists to vaccinate the entire country in between filling prescriptions is dumb. Hopefully this won’t be the plan for the next pandemic.

Took about 16ish hours for some body aches to kick in and then by 24-36 hours I had a fever and felt terrible.

My local county health department got this card left at one of the drive-through vaccination sites:

On the other hand, if you don’t hydrate and she is the only one who gets symptomatic, then you win. So, there is a bit more to the EV calculation on this. I’d probably take your line, but I can understand if someone wanted to gambool it up in this spot.

LOL, if she’s the only one who gets symptomatic, there are no circumstances where I win.

Maybe win wasn’t the correct term. How about “she would be wrong”? There has to be some value there.

TIL Melkerson has never been married.

Well all marriages are different I suppose. But I’ve got a pretty decent list of times I was right and she wasn’t in the chamber should the need arise. Of course, they should only be used with the most extreme caution. The consequences of misuse can be severe.

Maybe you think you do.

I don’t bet on things like that, let’s just say I’ll put you at the top of the list.
