blah wtf no idea how you got jabbed in this shitty state, nothing for me or the wife.
Itās some kind of vaccine drive thing in Waconia. Someone told me about it, it was full the day i heard about it and then I happened to look the next morning and they had one available slot. If youāre willing to leave the metro area you can find stuff, my dad found openings near Rochester and in Virginia
I got pretty sick a week after my second jab. Like a ton of phelgm, runny nose, congested as hell. Thought the same.
Also wondering if it could have been connected to the vaccine because it was the first time Iād been sick in over a year and I wasnāt in contact with really anyone but grocery store people.
Back to the ignore basket for a couple weeks with you.
Per WAPO the US did 4.5 million shots in one day yesterday. Going to be averaging 3 million shots per day within the next week or so I think, weāre already at 2.5 million. More than 1 percent of the entire US population got a shot yesterday.
It truly blows my mind how incompetent the Trump Administration was.
As I continue to age my astonishment at just how few people simply do their jobs continues to grow. Including and especially highly credentialed specialists.
I asked a worker at my local Publix how many vaccines they are giving a day. She said about 80. And there are 26 Publixes in our area of 600,000 folks. So thatās 2,080 doses a day at Publix. Divided by 2, thatās only 1,040 becoming fully vaccinated on a daily basis. There are 11 other pharmacies doling out vaccines. The local newspaper reports about 3,500 got vaccines on Friday. There have been a few drive-up events, but not many.
I guess my point is that if weāre ramping up, Iāve yet to see much evidence of that. And we really need to ramp up. Iād love to share optimism, but seeing is believing.
Every place in South Carolina is out of supply, which Iām assuming without evidence is due to horrible state government.
Counterpoint: The US administered 4.5 million shots yesterdayā¦ So weāre ramping up somewhere.
Iām sure we are doing more vaccines by the day. I guess Iām just venting a bit. After all, I live in a state governed by DeSantis. I become eligible tomorrow, but employees in education system are being āprioritizedā, so Iām not optimistic about getting an appointment any time soon. I guess Iām wondering if my local publix could suddenly go from 80 vaccines a day to 300? It doesnāt feel like it could, but I donāt know.
Heard shot 2 was real rough. Shot one was some pain around the injection for a couple of days for me.
Confirm/deny
Itās different for everyone. Shot two gave me a fever north of 102 for almost 48 hours along with all the other most common symptoms. But the large majority of people I personally know had no side effects other than a sore arm.
It varies. Two of my coworkers were sick as dogs for a few days, whereas I and another coworker had an even milder reaction to the 2nd shot versus the 1st jab.
Is it an online registration system? If so, use the f5 method.
The Mrs and I had very minor symptoms. Minor chills and arm pain went away after a good nights rest.
Watch this site obsessively. You should be able to get an appointment if youāre willing to drive.
FWIW in the LA area Iāve seen tons of evidence of a ramp-up. Massive vaccination sites at Dodger Stadium, Cal State LA, and elsewhere are humming and lots of smaller āpop upā sites all over the place (like the one where I got my lucky shot). In a two week span I went from knowing like one person who had been jabbed to it being like 50% of the people I talk to regularly.
I had Pfizer shot #1 on Thursday and definitely think Iāve had some side effects. One thing I know for sure is that on Friday my arm hurt like hell, WAY more than any flu shot Iāve ever had. I donāt care whether the other stuff Iāve felt are actual side effects, psychosomatic, allergies, of whatever, as long as its not actual COVID. Iām going to be hyper vigilant until Iām a couple weeks out from shot #2.
And in other news Marvelous Marvin Hagler died yesterday and Tommy Hearns said on Twitter it was as a result of a reaction to the vaccine.
Wow. This looks awesome. I will try this tomorrow when I become eligible. Ironically, it does look like most open appointments involve a drive, but Iām okay with that.
Melkerson is being entirely reasonable
