I like how she’s not looking at the needle and leaning her head away from it. That’s me! Opposite of Ukrainian president.

He’s probably not tough enough to be able to pose for a picture while getting an ouchy shot.

[quote=“Huehuecoyotl, post:6543, topic:3483”] libertarian Kock think tank guys on Twitter and they’re laughable and infuriating. A bunch of #PersonalResponsibility, “No one’s stopping you from wearing a mask”.

Libertarians seem to be just pretending to not be fully developed right wing assholes. They usually clearly end up there though.

Interesting hypothetical. If you could get the J&J today or instead wait x days and get Moderna/Pfizer, how many days would you wait?

My grandparents are in their 80s and particularly my grandpa is very high risk. They haven’t gotten vaccinated because of their own stupidity. They could have gotten vaccinated a couple months ago but didn’t want to stay in Ohio long enough for the second dose. So they flew to Florida where they thought it’d be easy to get it, and now haven’t been able to get it done. They are coming back to Ohio, and now could potentially get either the J&J or the Moderna, but will have to wait 4 extra days to get the Moderna. I think it’s worth 4 days.

It’s a question of whether you’re willing to increase your risk of serious illness and death in trade for a lower risk of mild but symptomatic illness. J&J and AstraZeneca may have lower effectiveness numbers for mild to moderate illness, but they’re both excellent at preventing serious illness and death. So, I think the amount of extra time you should wait to get a Moderna or Pfizer shot should be measured in minutes, not days.

Did you see that graph? I want to sport that “curve”

Seriously maybe a week. Bird in the hand.

Shocking.

So fucking excited. Wife got a text from the county asking if she could get a shot. She’s getting a Moderna shot tomorrow.

Been so afraid of getting her sick for a year now. Would be a massive weight off our shoulders.

I’ll be getting stuck on Friday and my old parents and sister who’s a nurse in canada will be waiting months it seems. Feel a little guilty.
