Your pony 12 hrs slow (not bad for you)

Could be 21st-28th December then?

Mass vaccinations in the United States could begin in the third or fourth week of December says Dr Anthony Fauci.

So you mean if you are already infected when you receive the vaccine. That’s what I was missing. Thanks.

No, I mean that get the vaccine, then get infected. You then produce antibodies that suppress the virus quickly enough that you won’t get tested, so won’t show up in the study. However, enough of the virus is produced to infect someone else.
Remember that people are infectious a few days before they show symptoms. If the vaccine lets you get to those days but not further, that would be a problem.

Ah. Gotcha. To my knowledge no other vaccine works this way but we are plowing fresh snow.

So get vaccine.
Later get exposed to virus
Even with immunity from vaccine, the virus gets enough of a threshold to multiply to shed as asymptomatic.

Gotta think that probability is pretty damn low.

I guess, but based on all the shit that has already gone on, I can understand every public health official who wants to be extra careful.

Yes.

There is no reason to suspect that this is possible in any significant way, as it would completely undermine our understanding of basic germ theory

I have those same exact steam radiators in my house and I am several hours outside of NYC. They’re all over the northeast in pretty much every pre-war building that hasn’t had a major heating system renovation. I’d guess they’re pretty common in buildings from that era in midwest too.

Now that I think about it, most of the older buildings at UT Austin have (or at least had) steam radiators too.

Massachusetts governor got super serious about this pandemic thing today and rolled back occupancy limits at gyms, libraries and museums from 50% all the way to 40%. I reckon that oughta take care of any problems. We should be right as rain by, idk, Friday? Sunday at the absolute latest.

Woof, bud, this means people who get ill from chickenpox despite being vaccinated can spread the disease. That’s not what is being discussed here
