The wave never stopped in Florida they are just testing less. A lot less. Deaths are increasing, current 7 day average near 100, while cases are decreasing and of course they are defining covid deaths as narrowly as a possible because Desantis.

In most of the US its still very nice out. And we have not exited daylight saving times. People are indoors when the sun is down, people indoors spread the virus. It would probably be a good idea to stay on extended evening daylight time this year. I think we will have a shutdown level spike in the second week of November. Thats when flu season stars to tick up and it probably has something to do with losing the extra hour of daylight at night.
Of course a shutdown level spike wont be enough to be proactive and actually shutdown. We will have incremental restrictions put in place until things get so bad that shutting down is the only option. I hope I’m wrong but all the indicators are pointing to are very long lock down winter.
I cant imagine how a lame duck president Trump will behave through all this. The next four months scare the shit out of me.
