I wanted to share this tool to assess the risk of various daily activities. It breaks risk down into microCOVIDs which is a one in a million chance of being infected.
Dumbest fucking thing about all of this, is the cult of Trump is so strong, if Trump had been promask everyone would be wearing their fucking masks properly. And he would probably win reelection easy.
I tried to model my last week in Denver. 2000 microCovids = .2% chance of getting it. I guess I played Russian Roulette with a gun with 500 chambers.
I made my family risky by saying they had a contact who socializes. This is probably low. But I also am not a household member with them. I was just hanging around with them for 3 days. I felt my risk of getting it from one of the family members and friends I was hanging out with seems much higher than from someone else at the two indoor restaurants we went to.
If I use Johnson County, KS - where my aunt and parents live - it doubles. But everyone else lives in Denver.
I’m calling not only covid but secondary heart disease caused by covid. I don’t think it will be a covid hospitalization on a vent but a mild or asymptomatic case that results in myocarditis.
You have this backwards though. Trump isn’t pro or con anything except trump. He simply took the anti mask shit from his minions. He doesn’t direct them. They direct him.
There are patterns though. Being informed highly correlates with being anti-Trump because he is a bullshit peddler. So Trump will tend to dislike experts and scientists because they are hardwired to contradict his BS. It was totally natural for him to be anti-mask because the types of people that oppose him (believers in science, believers in confirmable reality generally) will tend to be pro-mask.
I wonder how many people she just killed to get a blowout. Obviously it is incredibly damaging to our side of the Covid argument. It may have real electoral consequences as well.
Having driven through SD recently this isn’t surprising. Barely any mask usage and places were cram packed with people as far as I could tell from the road.
