You’re right. I worded that badly. There are a ton of reasons people voted for trump, but racism is basically the only reason people still support him unless you’re grifting.
323 new cases yesterday in the Czech Republic.
Third most new cases in a day and the worst day in over 4 months.
Four of the ten worst days have come in the last two weeks.
Yet, schools are still gonna open here?
Good choice. Peterson sucks in general and is a terrible representative for psychologists. He also has the second-most annoying voice among right-wing pseudo-intellectuals, lagging only Ben Shapiro for the ultimate crown.
All schools?
Dude was pulling in 60-80K PER MONTH. He was 100% grifting
Wait, you’re saying you DON’T like the Kermit the Frog on Quelludes voice?
Nothing helps drive people to socialism like an incompetent Republican mishandling the economy, see also Herbert Hoover leading to President-for-life FDR.
Once that comparison was made, I can’t stop hearing Kermit’s voice every time he speaks.
FF to 3:33 for the spot-on Peterson impersonation.
And a throwback to when Chapo showed some creativity
FL cases going the wrong way, likely due to reopening of testing centers that they closed for the hurricane.
8,541 new cases and 182 new deaths.
Shocker
So that’s what about 25% missing?
Plus I will contend that excess deaths is still an undercount as I guess that less accidents and other communicable disease is probably a net negative against non covid deaths due to poorer healthcare for heart etc as people avoid hospitals or one extreme cases hospitals are short on resources.
I think it’s been the case for a while that the CDC estimates point to true deaths being approximately 20% higher than reported deaths. It’s nice to see it laid out in a clear way and on a state-by-state basis.
However, you should be prepared for people to argue that all of the excess deaths simply capture the direct result of the lockdowns:
- increases in suicides
- lack of access to normal medical care and preventative medicine
- starvation and other medical issues caused by government-imposed unemployment
So not only is COVID a complete hoax, the government basically killed 200,000 people by imposing unnecessary lockdowns.
At the very least, those CA and FL numbers are garbage. CA’s reporting system is b0rked right now, and FL decided that they can’t be arsed because of a tropical storm.
It’s a 37% undercount!
The 200,700 was through July 25th and was 54k higher than official as of that date
It is what it is
Good news everybody! My college president announced that you cannot catch COVID-19 from surfaces via smear transmission. That should really put some minds at ease here!
The long story is I asked during a “re-opening” town hall whether employees would be notified as to the number of students/staff that had contracted the virus. I acknowledged the the contact tracing functions for new cases would be handled by the county health department and that HIPAA and other privacy concerns should be respected, but that getting a raw number of cases would help employees make informed decisions about their personal health.
The reply I got was strange - “Would YOU like everybody to know if you contracted COVID-19? I know I sure wouldn’t.”
I mean, why wouldn’t I want people to know? Am I supposed to be ashamed of it?
Someone else followed up expressing concern that they would hide the information and that everyone was funneled through a single point of entry, so if people got it, everyone is by definition coming in contact with them but you know they won’t contact trace anyone outside of people in the same office/class, etc. That is when I learned that if you weren’t contacted by a contact tracer, you were safe and are not at risk, and scientists now have confirmed that you only can get the disease via respiratory droplets and not by touching common surfaces. Neat!
Tree fiddy? And the teacher wants to keep the schools closed? Anything else closed in CZ? Borders, Pubs, Restaurants?
Shit we want them open. But the schools closed for way less than this in March. When they did open in June, they were partially opened with numerous restrictions and there were way fewer cases back then.
Now, we have double the active cases we had in June and are in the second wave of the pandemic with little interest from the government in mitigating its impact.
And if you can’t understand why the standards for opening a school should be higher than opening a pub, you’re a fucking idiot.
If you think a population of 10m can keep Covid lower than 300 cases a day when it’s OPEN FOR BUSINESS, then you’re probably the idiot
LOL
“Can you tell me everyone who has covid?”
“So you’re saying you want to know everyone to know who has covid? Even yourself?!? GOTCHA”
