People are definitely wearing more masks than a month ago so cases should decline.

Yeah, I think you’re right. I’m seeing 7,402 deaths in total, and it looks like the right number for yesterday was 7,157. I had been looking at the Atlantic site, which was showing 7,279 for yesterday’s number.
My sister in law in Vegas thinks she might have contracted Covid. I don’t think so, and think she just had food poisoning, but regardless, she went and got tested yesterday.
They told her 14 days for results.
Seems like in 14 days you’re either in the hospital on oxygen, at home recovering, or you never had it. What a useless test.
We’re supposed to see her and her family in Idaho in the middle of the month. We rented a cabin at about the halfway point between our home in Washington and their place in Vegas. Hope she tests clean.
I think people get tests to determine whether they need to full-on quarantine. But what people should be doing (and will never ever ever do) is self-quarantine if they have any symptoms until they test clean and the symptoms go away.

Yes we should skeptical of all numbers good or bad. However it’s ok to appreciate that their is a political bias only on the numbers looking “good”. There is nothing in the US that is intentionally shifting numbers the other way.
(Granted there are reporting and classification issues but those tend to neutral or at least constant in impact). Not a thumb on the scale so to speak.

My wife found out that the mail guy at her main law office client tested positive for antibodies. His only know illness was mild cold/covid symptoms the week BEFORE the shutdown.
This is what you have to do here if you are symptomatic.
Can someone explain what in the fuck is going on in this country? Seeing those school pictures just shreds any ounce of hope I have for the rest of the year.

I think that’s what’s so frustrating about this virus. You have no idea if you have it or not (unless you get a test), and if you test positive for antibodies, you still have no idea when you had it.
It makes us the assholes, because we’re sitting here hoping they get rocked so hard that everyone else will learn the lesson. But of course that’s literally impossible, because tons of people literally don’t care. what the fuck.

Huge swaths of an entire generation of people, the generation that is currently largely in charge of America’s institutions, has been rewarded their whole lives for ignoring inconvenient reality and embracing fictional narratives that require no sacrifice. Now you are asking them not to do that.
