Dodger Stadium taking the low-tech route:
LEDs. Though I suppose lasers would work, they’d be more expensive.
They weren’t the only team to do that:
I guess movie studios had a stadium worth sitting around.
Someone must have done some study to see if people want to see people in the stands. Personally I don’t get it. The fake cheering is creepy enough. I’d prefer to have the field mic’ed up and hear the clean crack of the bat and the actual sounds on the field than some CGI
I love how teams are charging the fans money who are allowing their images to be used for the team’s benefit.
I think this makes sense based on goofy’s last numbers he posted when compared to the previous week. I mentioned yesterday that it looked like results were arriving outside of the 7DMA in D.C., and this seems to back that up.
I don’t seem to have that option in the Samsung Health App. After a little back and forth on Twitter, their answer is the same as I’ve gotten with every other question I’ve submitted there: ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Annoyingly, I’m guessing it could be bc I have a Samsung smartwatch.
Airplane not being at the highest risk level is insane.
Seriously. My friend, who has an auto-immune disorder, just flew to NC then drove her mom from NC back to Denver. She wasn’t happy about having to fly, but it needed to be done.
It’s been 12 days since the plane ride so I’m all relieved. She’s still worried about the motel rooms on the drive. But they wiped everything down. The plane has to be orders of magnitude more risky.
If going to a park playground is just as bad as sending my kid to daycare then I’ve been ‘wasting’ an absolute shitload of time lately.
(Put it in quotes as I’m certainly not sad about doing that rather than working.)
I find my recent style of poker to be the safest. The chips go out, but they never return. Bigly decreased risk of infection that way.
Was set to go to my first poker game in a long time tomorrow. Now I’m not so sure
Sucks because I was just starting to get my social life going here.
hah, if i’m being honest i thought those were the same thing. I know it’s like two wavelengths you have to use. Made one for a project awhile back.
Do the stress test. It’s on that.
A former co-worker who has recently gone full Q Anon just took a vacation to Nashville. Based on their FB posting, one of the highlights was hanging out inside a bar with no masks (except for the employees) while a cover band played Garth Brooks songs and urged the crowd to sing along with the chorus.
It’s high, but I don’t think it’s highest. It can be a reasonable expectation to have everyone wear a mask for the entirety of a flight. Expecting people to wear a mask for the entirety of a trip to go drink at a bar is lol.
It’s not, though. There’s supposed to be an option for “measure multiple” there, but no. I think it must have something to do with the watch, which wouldn’t be able to do that measurement I don’t think.
