COVID-19: Chapter 5 - BACK TO SCHOOL

The vaccine data should be freely available to all, public domain and the like.

So much for cali GOAT. GJGE Newsom.

Apparently there’s a virtual Cobb County (GA) school board meeting going on right now and they announced that the district is going virtual to start the year, rather than the previous announcement of parent choice. I’m not watching the meeting - just heard through a FB post.

Florida 14k new cases, 156 dead (shatters old record). 80,000 tests performed (20% positivity).

I honestly don’t see how they avoid shutting down at this point. I mean LOL DeSantis and all but at some point they have to throw in the towel right?

I really think Newsom has been doing the best he can so far. Obv SoCal should have never reopened, but the pressure to do so had to have been immense. He has been pushing masks and distancing from D1 and has now re shut down essentially all counties.

One man can only do so much

Wasn’t there spin that last time Florida had 15k cases it was playing catch up from large batches of tests?

Now it’s just normal. Here is Georgia we’re just one or two steps behind them on the road to hell, but I’ll still say lol Florida.

Almost all of that is below about 37 deg N. Maybe weather, people being outside, beaches, air conditioning…some environmental factors. Have Montana, Wyoming, Wisconsin etc really been more strict on policy?

the spin from the derposphere is that the positivity rate is a lie and we can’t trust the numbers because of this article. People I know in NY have been posting it the past couple of days.

It seems like some small labs haven’t submitted the negative cases and its a huge conspiracy (even though I doubt the negative tests not reported from these labs would lower the positive rate down even 1%)

Yup, it’s official, just got the e-mail from Cobb County School District about going totally virtual. No set end date.

Heritagenothate has thoughts.

This from the superintendent of our district

Good Morning,

The Roseville City School District Board of Education scheduled a Special Board Meeting for 6:00 p.m. this evening. The virtual board meeting is open to the public. To view the agenda and access the meeting, please click on the View Our Board Agendas tile at the bottom of the rcsdk8.org home page.

Our District has been intent on fully reopening our schools for months and actively planning for three learning programs. However, the State placed Placer County on their coronavirus watch list and then imposed further state-wide restrictions on July 13th. Placer County Public Health has indicated there is an increase in community spread of the coronavirus combined with an inability of the current testing system to support the adequate and timely return of test results if schools were to open. According to the California Department of Education, school districts should ensure there is sufficient duration or decline of infection rates and testing availability, among others, before opening schools.

Therefore, at tonight’s meeting, I am prepared to recommend full-time distance learning for all Roseville City School District students for at least the first trimester. Students would be assigned to teachers from their original school of enrollment. Should the Board of Education approve the recommendation, we will provide more information about distance learning, expanded childcare, and technology access in the coming weeks.

We all want our children to return to school. It is not a matter of if they return. It’s a matter of when and how they return this school year.

Respectfully,

Derk Garcia
Superintendent

Looks like he is recommending fully online

The Montana governor did issue an order that face masks are required (no fine or anything to enforce it) for gatherings of 50+ in counties that have more than 4 active cases. Wisconsin isn’t doing that bad but Milwaukee is doing pretty poorly (mayor signed an order requiring masks indoors and outdoors the other day). States with lower populations and people more spread out are doing better but I think those 2 things are a big factor

Someone needs to photoshop trump’s smiling face onto the thisisfine.jpg dog IMO.

I don’t know why this is interesting me, but could you translate this? Do hot spots not count if they were sparked by traveling Northerners? Are terrorists and school shooters hyping up coronavirus fears for [reasons]?

Genuinely curious

I think the last part is that the media lies to you to keep you afraid. They’re saying they aren’t pushing terrorist and school shooters on us anymore because they’re using covid19 to keep us scared. So they have " disappeared " you know, not because schools closed lol.

I see that shit a lot with hoaxer dummies

A poster on Chiefsplanet works in healthcare on the front lines, tested positive back on May 1st - never had any symptoms. Tested negative multiple times after that. Now he’s sick, no taste or smell, and just tested positive again. He’s a solid poster so I believe him. Scary.

You just blew my mind - lunatics on the RIGHT think that the MEDIA is falsely hyping the threat of terrorists?
