Sushi is specialty food and doesn’t fit the classification of “corporate food thrown frozen in a microwave” so I agree. I have never made sushi at home and doubt I ever will. The difficulty and time needed to make it well wouldn’t be well spent at home unless it was just a fun project
Finding the best fish seems like the most daunting task for a novice to me. Counterpoint: I have eaten a ton of sushi and never tried for this reason so maybe I am just lazy.
The fish selection, knife skills, making the rice correctly, the assembly itself, and then putting it all together and not wasting any (expensive) ingredients that have to be used that day—there’s a lot going into it

Things are picking up. Czech Republic finally using their testing capabilities. Ran more tests today than in any day since the beginning of June. Much lower percentage since I assume they’re testing a lot of asymptomatic people which explains the drop in percentage of positive tests.
Wouldn’t be surprised if we’re in lockdown later this year.
