COVID-19: Chapter 4 - OPEN FOR BUSINESS

And they are likely to follow the CSU lead. Though their tuition is multiple times higher and they may not be so willing to let the cash cow stop for a semester

Yeah, LA county and most likely Orange county will still be under stay at home orders through July. There is no way theme parks will be approved for opening before phase three which is likely not until early 2021

Brazil has become a new hotspot.

My cpa boss told us today we are coming back this week

Even though Michigan is in a 6 stage program. We just entered stage 3 yesterday with things like manufacturing and big 3 and contractor outdoor work

Stage 4 is recovering stage where office workers can return but telework is required when possible

We can all do all our work from home

But short guy control freak millionaire wants to make sure we are working hard during the pandemic

Iā€™m sure making us report for duty is going to make me super productive.

Oh but we are ā€œessentialā€ because we are public accounting

We do after the fact accounting payroll and tax returns.

If he gets reported he will know itā€™s me.

We all have our own offices with locks

So Iā€™ll be there but I wonā€™t take in person meetings with other staff and no clients are allowed and we all have to wear masks

Letā€™s see if any of that actually happens.

Good luck man. Stay safe

I highly recommend Mexico. Tons of great areas in the country and itā€™s very easy from a visa perspective. Iā€™ve been in Mexico City for almost 2 years and will never move back to the States.

As a lurker who pops in from time to time, these JT walls of text have made this thread brutal lately. Move them to their own thread or something, jeez.

And update from Nicaragua: still no testing or any govt response whatsoever! Iā€™m hoping to go back to the US in June when they have some flights ā€˜scheduledā€™ but who the hell knows. It could be a while. I might have time to really work on the Espanol.

These are unprecedented times in the age of the internet so it shouldnā€™t be surprising if people want to air their views at length here. If they bother you, skip past them.

Iā€™m fairly certain McConnelā€™s reasoning for not granting anymore stimulus money for state and local governments is that he knows it would put pressure on them to open back up because they arenā€™t getting the tax revenues they need on lockdown. Heā€™s pure fucking evil and deserves a painful, humiliating end to his life. If only god were just.

This is what we get for giving any big corporate bailouts tbh. Now that the donors have been taken care of thereā€™s no incentive for the GOP to do anything else.

New coronavirus hotspots are emerging in Republican heartland communities across multiple states, contradicting Donald Trumpā€™s claims that infection rates are declining across the nation.

At a fraught press briefing on Monday, the president declared: ā€œAll throughout the country, the numbers are coming down rapidly.ā€

Yet county-specific figures show a surge in infection rates in towns and rural communities in red states such as Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky and North and South Dakota, according to data tracking by the New York Times.

Trumpā€™s claim is also contradicted by data used by the White Houseā€™s own pandemic taskforce to track new and emerging hotspots.
