COVID-19: Chapter 4 - OPEN FOR BUSINESS

RNA-seq data. We do this type of thing I. Fermentation all the time to understand when genes turn on/off. But man the data is dense. Just skimmed so far. Love that they coded each individual in addition to the groupings. I’d still want a biostatistician holding my hand through the data interpretation.

Microwave meals in your room. Off hour grocery trip.

That’s it. Sanjay Gupta is mad. Now people will listen

Legitimately enraged. There assholes have killed more Americans than the entire Vietnam War.

And when some academic shows that the real number of covid deaths is closer to double what government actually reported, the anger will remarkably be even worse

Jesus fucking christ the stupidity.

Based on the wording of your post it appears as though this team has a BYOB policy so, no, not worth the risk imho.

There’s probably some truth to that.
I don’t know how many times I’ve agonized over a decision and then once it’s been made, I’ll defend it like crazy even though it was a close decision or was one I am still a bit doubtful about.

Woohooo going to get my first haircut since February! Luckily my barber is taking this serious and isn’t even going to be cutting hair at the barbershop for a while until things settle down so he is starting to do cuts in his backyard with mask and all.

BUT HE ENDORSED BERNIE

Burr is at his absolute best in that type of format. I dont know if he has a podcast of his own but I would think he would be great at it. He’s been good on every one I’ve heard. He’s been on Dana Gould’s I think twice and just slayed both times. I think he’s so much funnier when he’s sitting around Riffing with someone else than when he’s alone doing standup. Eta huh he does have one I did not know that but will check it out

Burr has a long running podcast, its pretty good if you like just hearing him rant about his daily life and whatever else he feels like talking about, used to be a ton of sports talk so im sure hes dying without that going on.

Yeah I just hit Stitcher and added it to my already overwhelming faves list

My friend who works as a PD in Troup County, Georgia says there are significant protests going on at the jails, because they have significant COVID infection amongst the inmates. ACLU and others involved.

I mean yeah probably nothing truly prepares one for the presidency but I would think maybe eight years as veep might go a long way toward it? And he never even considers it for a moment, like it doesn’t even cross his mind.

But keeeeed tells me he has a bunch of twitter followers and Spotify just threw a bunch of money at him so I’m sure I and my eyes and ears are just wrong here.

Yeah but life is not worth living if you can’t go to Olive Garden and yell at a waitress.

The really really fucked up thing is that we could actually have some form of OPEN FOR BUSINESS if these fucknuts had locked down appropriately in the first place and were willing to take some EASY measures now. Because of their unwillingness to accept a change in their routines at all, then and now, the rest of us are stuck in this purgatory.

260 employees at Orlando International Airport tested positive. GJGE Florida. No way the NBA allows games there now.

Seems like the diversity of USA#1 is part of the problem here. NYC went nuclear, and everywhere shut down schools, etc. Even the reddest spots that had no real cases. So that initial decision has borne some catastrophic fruit, in terms of embittering places that weren’t really yet impacted by the virus.

All of these disparate places were going to have their increases/peaks at different times, but now when the places that initially shut down with no cases start getting some, the toothpaste is already out of the tube and they can never restrict things again, there simply will be no appetite for it.

And I’m not saying it was wrong to shut everything down across the board - it was the best decision at the time with all of the available information. But, now that we know that there is about a 2-3 month period during which Americans are willing to endure a change of routine before they go full Karen, maybe next time we will have to stagger the shutdowns or find some other mitigation strategy.

Also, not going to Florida, so sanity is prevailed. The wife thanks ya’ll for the feedback ITT.
