The “cleanliness” is probably vastly less important than the number of people near you when you’re in the gym, provided you’re washing your hands and not touching your face.
I do wonder if I still have enough T-cells or w/e from that 3-4 week nasty dry cough in Dec. that if I do get it, it would be mild.
How much do you deadlift? You can get a bar for probably $75 and weight for around $1/lb, a low end 300-lb set is about $250. If you’re paying a gym membership just to deadlift and you have a place with room for that, it’s an easy fix. I actually have a half rack in my apartment, as a renter.
We made a makeshift platform, really it’s just two squares of plywood with foam rubber mats glued to them. Then we made another one to go in the middle so that my feet are at the same level as the mats. I didn’t bring that to my new place, so currently I’m missing the bottom inch or two of range on the lift.
I dunno, if they’re breathing heavy and I’m breathing heavy - I’m not nuts about that. Especially if I’m laying down on a bench press with my mouth open sucking in every slowly descending breath droplet that passes by. No way I’m doing that again until this is over. Pushups are good enough. Of I’d just buy a bench if I needed it that bad.
This is yet another reason why y’all should be getting regular flu shots.
That’s the speculative part of the article that might have some merit. Previous exposure to similar coronaviruses may give your immune system a better chance because it wouldn’t be so novel to it. I don’t understand the science behind it so Dan or someone else will need to chime in but that does make sense to me.
Yeah I’m not going down that whole road - it would just be sitting in the middle of my living room. I already have an exercise bike and a roman chair taking up space in my one bedroom.
That’s what I mean. I’m much more worried about people breathing near me than how clean the surfaces are.
I’d really like to see a study done in the US on people who catch covid and whether or not they got that same cough I got and seemingly everyone I knew got in LA.
Oh yeah - I read that wrong. Yeah that’s why 5am, hopefully no one around, a few quick sets of deadlifts - not lying down - get out of there.
I agree that more research on that would be both useful and interesting.
The other thing I think has happened or is happening is that the vulnerable people are dying and/or taking heavy precautions. Young people going out and partying is going to cause a lot of cases but probably not a lot of death. At least not directly. It would not surprise me at all if we see new cases and deaths move in the opposite direction for a while. If you look at the worldwide stats that is the trend. More and more cases and less and less death. It is probably a combo of vulnerable people being dead or taking more precaution and increases in testing.
Suzzer you want to OFB sooooo bad don’t you?
First two guys are the rest of America. The Rock and Samuel L. Jackson are Trumpers. Wahlberg is suzzer. The rest of the forum is Will Farrell.
Not during COVID. A decent bar will be more than $75, 300 lb sets are nonexistent right now and you will pay $2+/lb. I’d still do it over going to a gym if possible. I got a barbell and plates this weekend with some effort.
I never thought I’d be excited about getting a damn barbell. https://www.roguefitness.com/the-ohio-bar-cerakote
There is 1 CAP 300 lb set on Amazon today. Price - $1500 lmao
The best part of those graphs is you can literally see the lockdowns working by the end of April in Florida and mid-May in Texas. And then they just decide fuck it and go for it and now right on queue the predictable result.
That’s who I got my half rack from! I thought about getting that bar, but it was just so damn expensive comparatively.
I just got one that would work that popped up because none are available. Lifetime warranty though so all good. Have some echo bumper plates coming from them also.
And my former friends who are college-educated liberals were like “Fuck yeah, we got this! STFU cuserounder, why are you so worried? You sound mentally unwell! Talk to us when you feel better.”
Sunday drive through suburban strip malls report.
Everywhere is packed. Line out the door about 40 people deep for fuck Pier One. Mask usage for those clumped together (especially near restaurants) appears to be about 15%. Numbers in the county and nearby counties are climbing.
Note: redneck suburb of less redneck major city in CA (but more redneck major city than most major cities in CA)
