This is great, thanks for posting.

If their hospitals are already 90% full, it’s already too late to avoid Italy overruns with distancing. It will happen, or it won’t.

Yeah probably - but if they can shunt enough people off to other cities (or other states), or build field ICUs with our ventilator stockpile, who knows.

He is really going to hate the NFL this year.

They don’t watch it at all. I got them to turn on Auburn/Alabama a couple of years ago by promising there would be no kneeling.

That does not look good.

Arizona did not get too hard initially did it? When did they start to “reopen”?

That might be a lot of their problem. Gave them a sense of invincibility + no current herd immunity.

NFL banned kneeling.

But I think they also let players stay in the locker room or something? Somehow it ceased to be an issue in 2019?

Another friend of mine in LA had her entire family - who lives in St. James which is fairly rural and like an hour outside of St. Louis - just completely cut the NFL out of their lives. Although again, St. Louis doesn’t even have a team so I tend to wonder how much that plays into it.

She was back in town and her uncle was having a party on SB Sunday. He told her the NFL wouldn’t be on. She said then I’m not going. He then said ok we’ll put it on one tv. She still didn’t go.

None of even the hardest-core right-wing idiots on chiefsplanet boycotted the NFL afaik - for obvious reasons. We got Mahomes.

It’s amazing how much the conversation has shifted on this in the last few weeks.

All it took was some massive nationwide protests with a little rioting and looting sprinkled in and all of a sudden everyone is finding their empathy for the plight of black people in America.

They’re really struggling with it. But they will never turn on Mahomes. So this is good. Also they’re so on the defensive on this stuff right now. They’ve mostly retreated to “my feelings are valid, dammit” and “liberals are big meanies”.

“Get that son of a bitch off the field!” is the farthest thing from their minds right now. They just want this all to end. You can tell all but the truly stupid realize they were probably wrong to pile on Kaep. And if their dipshit leader just wouldn’t have fanned the flames on that the whole issue never would have blown up. It’s glorious.

I don’t know how long this will last but it’s fun to see them on the run.

I don’t think the average person in this state has any idea about how bad it’s gotten nor have I heard a peep from the governor or mayors about further distancing or taking measures to keep people safe. Stay-at-home order expired sometime in mid May, people didn’t seem terribly eager to “get back to business” here but my understanding was that Phoenix was back to some semblance of normal almost immediately.

There’s no reason to think we are special and that other locales who started opening up early won’t be affected. In fact I’m pretty sure we opened up later here than a lot of places so unclear why we are the ones getting slammed. A lot of the old people and students are gone now too and I can tell you we are seeing a number of younger people admitted to the ICU with this thing. Stonks looking good though.

As for the Czech Republic, aside from a few isolated outbreaks over the last 2-3 weeks, things are fine. There are some parts of the country that haven’t had a single case in days. Prague had 10 new cases yesterday. Things are mostly business as usual though masks are still mandatory in some circumstances.

Honestly, covid19 is not a problem as of now. The second eave is inevitable though. Tourism might cause some serious issues this summer.

Wasn’t this dude crazy right wing like a decade ago, and could never resist sharing his political views? Is he still like that? I would be shocked if he wasn’t a huge MAGA supporter.

There are multiple people on this forum from AZ although I think the rest are in the Phoenix area and I’m the only one in Tucson. Pig4bill was a disgusting right wing poster on 22 from Arizona, though he lived in some little podunk town where apparently Little Caesar’s was the main attraction. One of the last few times i played live poker (tournament series that came through town), I played at a table with a hilarious guy who turned out to be a 22er although he lived in Mexico.
