COVID-19: Chapter 10 - Mission Achomlished!

Every person I know in Australia had it basically instantly as well btw (n:10ish)

Btw this came on the heels of what I think may be hand foot and mouth disease. Or some other virus resembling it. Not having the most relaxing of vacations.

Long and persuasive thread arguing that the raccoon dog story was mostly BS, except as proof that raccoon dogs were present in the market.

Isnā€™t there an oranges thread for this content?

There is, but the raccoon dog stuff was brought up here for whatever reason. :man_shrugging:

Can you explain why, exactly, you find this so persuasive? My understanding is that the case was built around how samples that were positive were clustered around an area with raccoon dogsā€¦ and this paper talks about environmental DNA found in the samples that they sequenced. I donā€™t see how that really leads you to the conclusion that ā€œthe raccoon dog story was mostly BSā€

And fucking hell dude:

thatā€™s what I get for scrolling up instead of down. Even your source disagrees with you @bobman0330. Wasted way too much time trying to figure out what you could possibly mean until scrolling down.

I think youā€™re mixing up the Worobey paper, which was about a spatial model and also mentioned the fact that raccoon dogs were present at the market a few years back, with the raccoon dogs story (The Strongest Evidence Yet That an Animal Started the Pandemic - The Atlantic), which claimed that the existence of a sample that was positive for COVID and also had raccoon dog DNA was a slam dunk for raccoon dogs as the intermediate host.

Search Angela Rasmussen. Author on OP. Not what they claimed. You are basing a lot on a media misrepresentation.

Both sequences found in the same location. Not the same animal.

Mods place splice these out to the oranges thread.

Damn @6ix, you win!

Iā€™m honestly just surprised to see there are so many antivaxxers here at Unstuck Politics.

Any long Covid sufferers in our midst? Seems like every fourth person I know that got it is still feeling ill effects.

Had post nasal drip for 4 months after.

This article seems like BS but I have recently started to notice something similar to pulsative tinnitus in my left ear and would be interested to know if any actual scientific proof comes out of this. Not that it would help my situation.

Pulsatile tinnitus is one of those things that you should get looked at, especially if itā€™s near constant

It only pops up occasionally, mostly at night when Iā€™m laying down. Itā€™s very strange
