Posting this only because Arcturus is a badass name for a variant, or a Marvel villain.
I saw a blurb that it has conjunctivitis as a symptom.

Sounds like a Pokemon to me.
It’s also the 4th brightest star in the night sky, in the northern hemisphere winter constellation Bootes.
LOTS of cultures over the years have stories about that star and constellation.

It’s plausible, it’s just that the definition of LC includes things that are much milder than the life-destroying symptoms that the describe in that story. I met the criteria for LC–I went through a two-month period where I was perpetually coughing and easily winded, would have random daylong bouts of fever and exhaustion every couple weeks, etc. Then it cleared up. It wouldn’t surprise me at all that 1 in 8 people had an experience like that.
I assume they count people with issues like me where I can’t smell much after 2.5 years.
Yeah that must be it. Debilitating long covid would be a much more relevant metric to the subject of the article.

I’ve lost count. It’s probably 4 or 5. I’m going on a trip in July and will probably time my next shot to be a few weeks before that. The last shot I got was last fall and it was timed around a trip as well.
