COVID-19: Chapter 10 - Mission Achomlished!

You’re probably misinterpreting the word ‘schedule’ there - I’d guess (don’t know) that covid vacinne take up in the under 5-12’s is less than 25% here. Like I said and you seem to be ignoring, NHS and JCVI aren’t ‘recommending’ the vaccine to that age group. ‘advises a non-urgent offer’ is a little different English then urgently recommending - kinda llike it’s there, if you want it.

No antivax here, just stating the messaging is different. My 2x 5-12’s had the first dose, no eligible for the secod yet. Would I vax my 3yr old? Doubt ti would get approved here as there seems to be no call for it. I’m quite happy to sit back and watch the US recommend vaxing 24,000,000 kids off what a study of 140 of them (??)

He’s not misinterpreting the word. According to your logic, the NHS recommends zero vaccines afaict, because I ctrl-F ‘rec’ and it didn’t pop up on the first three vaccines I looked at.

(btw a vaccine schedule is a recommendation)

Correct, as I keep stating the JCVI (like your CDC) do the recommending or otherwise. The NHS do the delivering.

Opinion piece from Johns Hopkins on the recent approval (similar to Wookie’s opinon piece from yourhomeepi blog)

Public health officials are expected to recommend COVID vaccines for children under 5 as soon as June 21st, despite the fact that the vast majority of children already have natural immunity. In a recent Kaiser survey, only 18 percent of parents said they were eager to vaccinate their child in that age group.

If the CDC is curious as to why people aren’t listening to its recommendations, it should consider how it bypassed experts to put the matter before a Kangaroo court of like-minded loyalists. The Biden administration should insist that we return to the standard process of putting all major vaccine decisions before a vote of the FDA’s leading vaccine experts.

I simply think it will be interesting to see how big the take-up is in under 5’s

OK a Marty Makary article. Totally not an antivaxxer though. Full blown troll mode… again.

I read Newsweek, never heard of MM - was she adult anti-vax too - must have been by your statement. Weird that Johns Hopkins employ anti-vaxxers, or not? Does this make Newsweek anti-vax for publishing it?

Newsweek got bought out by a clickbait farm about a decade ago, they’ve been trash since.

FYI Newsweek is a shit publication now run by a literal cult and involved in money laundering.

Seems to be fairly common. UCSF does too. You’ll note that Makary is a Fox News regular with a specialty in surgery. Makary became a big deal in the covid scene when he claimed that covid would be over due to natural immunity in April 2021. It didn’t go well, and he’s now a darling of the anti vaccine morons for promoting natural immunity.

Ahahahahahhahahahahahahahaha

Like, you can see that this quote is just plain factually untrue, right?

Ah, it’s a ‘he’ (see, definately never heard of him!)

Anyhow, having now skim read the WSJ opinion piece he seems a little off base but probably not too out there considering where the general modd was during Feb '21 (pre-Omicron). Covid gone by Aril '21 due to natural immunity wasn’t a tremndous ask around that time (he wasn’t the only one prediciting that vax along with natural immunity numbers would seem a significant fall in cases…people ITT, Dr’s and PHD’s thought my wager was insane (in the membrane)

Omicron put pay to that

It’s a non-urgent offer (JCVI didn’t use the word recommend, probably because they chose not to?)

A nonurgent recommendation is still a recommendation

They chose advise and advice, which are synonyms.

Some incredible performance art ITT. This thread is the Met of Internet trolling. Bravo, bravo!

‘My wife’ and I were just discussing what’s best for our kids and I thought I’d come here for some advice

Did you have any recommendations to add to the thread?

My grandkids will be getting the jabs ASAP. I will suggest they get Moderna.

You spelled trolling wrong.

Get your kids vaccinated, it’s a no brainer. Moderna seems slightly better but either mRNA vaccine seems good.

Ooohhh that one’s my favorite. Encore! Encore!

3 of 4 are, despite no recommendation. Baby is not legal, over here (and ROW) anyway.

Huh. Funny how you fight so passionately for something you don’t actually believe in.

I don’t believe in vaxxing the 3yr old until JCVI advises / recommends (funny you couldn’t analyse that from my posts) 2nd jabbing 2 of the 3 who aren’t yet double vaxxed (and aren’t eligible until mid July) is still in the wings. Like I feel I may be double vaxxing those two for selfish reasons when one vax and a likely pre-infection (75% odds on but always tested neg) will keep them out fthe minuscule percentage of serious harm.
