Macallan (go with the sherry oak rather than the double cask if you get the 12 and they have both). The cognac cask glenlivet 14 is really great and a real bargain. The Glenmoraingie 14 port cask is wonderful, and the Glenmoraingie 12 year sherry is like a poor manâs Macallan. I mean not that poor, itâs like 15 bucks cheaper. Dalmore is a little more challenging but not too bad. And Dalwhinnie is a really nice scotch that many people donât know about. I think these all have basically no peat smoke at all, if you want something with a hint of smoke go for the Johnnie Walker Green, which is a vatted malt, which is a blend of single malt scotches (other blends have grain whisky in them, which sucks because they reuse the casks they age the grain whisky in over and over again and all youâre left with is tannins). Itâs a really wonderful blend, donât let anyone tell you that blends are bad, theyâre not. Itâs a lot more complex than a single malt and still drinks very smooth.

The whole point of these âjust stopâ warnings is to end the entire back and forth rehedging of rancorous shit entirely.
Trying to find ways to define the exact line in order to keep the needling and argument going without crossing it kind of defeats the intent.

Or donât. Reply to the substance of why theyâre wrong without assigning nefarious motive to their wrongness. Explain why theyâre wrong with a friendly and open tone.
