We are all going to be using the Florida strategy in like two weeks.
There seems to be a pretty big difference between doing the FL strategy when cases are at or near a trough and doing the FL strategy all the time, even when cases are shattering all time highs.
Most places were basically Florida for the last surge too. California wasnt exactly Florida, but, LA was about as strict as we had in the US. Yet I saw crowds of 70,000 unmasked with the mayor unmasked in indoor suites during the NFC championship game near the height of the surge. Now most places in the US are punting most restrictions and cases certainly are not at or near trough, just lower than the Omicron peak.
Really don’t see how anywhere in the US has had the right to lol Florida since early ‘21 or so at the latest. Maybe some places were marginally better, but this is the C- student laughing at the F student. Follow the science turned out to mean follow the polling. Most mainstream dem politicians are Desantis or Desantis adjacent on COVID, just can’t be as honest because they have a different voter base.
The 28th Amendment says we all have the right to LOL Florida anytime we want, and if you want that right back you can pry it from my cold, lifeless fingers.
But my serious reply is that I’m LOL Florida-ing the people who are and have been cheerleading the approach most of the pandemic, who are the vast majority of Floridians.
Apparently anime fans are very good at preventing COVID from spreading.

Wait, there are contagious forms of cancer? I know HPV causes cervical cancer, but I didn’t know cervical cancer itself was contagious.
nah wrote that poorly, meant that cervical cancer is a danger to the public too.

It’s not technically correct however HPV and certain serotypes cause cancer. So functionally it’s splitting hairs.
I actually do know of a contagious cancer!
But it affects mussels and spreads in seawater.
Tasmanian Devils are afflicted by a contagious cancer of the face too. It is a huge problem that has killed 95% of affected populations.
