So there’s a new conspiracy theory that mRNA vaccines specifically target and kill young people, and that the clinical trials were completely fraudulent and there is zero efficacy. It’s being pushed by a former BlackRock hedge fund guy, so Moderna’s stock is getting killed as a result (-12% today), as is BioNTech’s.

Anybody in Europe or the US getting fourth shots? Since we’re supposed to be getting shots every 5 months in the CR, I should be due for mine at the end of March but I don’t know anybody who has received one.
Since I just had omicron my intention is to wait until fall and see if there is a new variety/ targeted vacccine, which I will probably get together with the flu shot.
If I hadn‘t recently had it, I would probably think I might as wenn her a fourth shot to try to escape the backend of the omicron wave.
Might be something to do with this recent US study and vaccine trials not really preventing transmission in that age group and above - if they’re gonna get it even if vaxxed, can’t use the old argument of more getting the M word from covid
It doesnt. They just are waiting for the three dose data rather than trying to get the two doses started now in case the third dose is approved. Would still expect Im vaccinating my under 5 here starting April or so.
That opinion is also highly questionable. VE definitely reduced by Omicron but AFAIK havent seen reputable studies put it at zero or close to zero. Would also still think that reducing symptoms/severity would reduce myocarditis from the virus, although havent seen specific figures on that.

Background is not a valid comparator. You’re going to get covid if unvaccinated. That’s the valid comparison. This dishonest comparison is something commonly done by anti-vaxxers.
You have no data that the vaccine as evidence that the vaccine can’t prevent transmission. This is dishonest trolling.

I’d get one if it was allowed. I’m 4 months from my booster and about to dive in to my high risk environment with an infant at home that can’t get vaccinated.
Israel is doing it, and they’ve been ahead of the curve and right on this kind of stuff the whole pandemic. I’m not sure if they’re doing it for educators, but I know they’re doing it for HCWs.
I don’t think it’s available anywhere else.
Seems that a couple of countries (Sweden, South Korea) are only recommending it for the elderly and immunocompromised.
No idea why they aren’t pushing it for everyone. I mean the Czech Republic is giving only 15,000 shots per weekday and about 80% of them are boosters. If omicron can’t get the unvaccinated going, then nothing will.
57% of people receiving the first two shots went on to get a booster shot. Not sure how many of that group is gonna go for another one especially without any disincentives for not getting one.

Out of curiosity, why do you care about “allowed”? You can easily go to a pharmacy and get them to give you a shot with little effort. No one is going to throw you in jail. So if you are convinced it will help you, what is stopping you? Discomfort about not being completely forthright about your vaccination history? Fear that you will take a jab from someone who needs it? Other?
Not comfortable with the amount of lying it would take to pull it off.
